May 9 to May 15

May 9: An officer was dispatched to assist the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department on a complaint of a verbal domestic.

May 10: An officer was dispatched to a disturbance complaint. The officer stood by until an agreement was reached by all parties, requiring no further action.

An officer was dispatched to assist the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department on a traffic stop.

May 11: An officer was dispatched to assist the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department on a complaint of a missing child.

An officer was dispatched to a residence for a barking dog complaint. The officer spoke to the complainant, and advised the suspect of the city’s ordinance.

May 12: An officer was dispatched to a harassment complaint. The officer spoke to the parties involved, and informed the suspect to stop the unwanted contact.

While on patrol an officer identified an individual as having an outstanding warrant. The suspect was arrested, transported to OCSD and lodged on charges.

An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a check well being complaint. Upon arrival the officer found the individual to be secure.

An officer took a found property report (trailer plate). The property will be kept at the Police Department for evidence.

May 13: An officer was dispatched to a Malicious Destruction of Property complaint at a residence. Photos were taken of the damaged vehicle. The case is open pending further investigation.

An officer was dispatched to a harassment complaint. The officer spoke to the complainant, and was unable to locate the suspect.

An officer was dispatched to a sudden death complaint at a residence. The officer was assisted by EMS.

An officer was dispatched to a residence for an assault complaint. The suspect was arrested and transported to Osceola County Sheriff’s Department where they were lodged on charges.

An officer was dispatched to a residence that appeared to have been broken into. The officer spoke to the complainant. The case is open pending further investigation.

May 9: Officers responded to a suspicious situation call. The caller stated there was a wheel chair on the side of the road on E. Church St. near the bridge without anyone in it. Officers arrived on scene to find that the High School Biology class was working down at the river and the chair belonged to one of the students.

The School Liaison Officer investigated a larceny of money complaint at the Reed City High School. The victim had money stolen from a gym locker. The matter is under investigation and the officers are reviewing camera footage.

Officers investigate a trash abatement. The subjects were leaving their trash cans at the side of the road all week. The owner was contacted and the cans have been removed.

Officers responded to a juvenile runaway complaint. The child was located and returned home.

Officers were dispatched to another juvenile runaway complaint. This child was also located and returned home. The matter is being turned over to child protective services.

May 10: Officers responded to a complaint of semis using business district streets. The area was checked and no violations were observed.

The School Liaison Officer investigated a complaint of a student bringing a knife to the High School. The knife was confiscated and the matter is being handled by school officials.

Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. It was discovered that the driver was operating without a valid license. The driver was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident.

Officers received a call of a vehicle driving around where the occupants had open containers of alcohol. The vehicle and occupants were located and cited, they were released at the scene.

Officers responded to the hospital for a mental subject who had walked away from the hospital. The subject was combative and physical force was needed to get her under control and transported back to the hospital.

Officers located lights that were left on a school bus at the bus garage. The bus was checked and the lights were turned off.

Officers located an open door at a business in the city. The business was checked and found to be secure. The property owner was notified.

May 11: Officers responded to a suspicious smell on rails to trails. Officers checked the area and nothing unusual was found.

Officers responded to a residence for a larceny of a license plate from a trailer. A report was completed.

Officers were dispatched to the hospital for an assault complaint. The victim was assaulted at school by another student. The suspect struck the victim in the head with a school book. The victim received a closed head injury. The matter is under investigation.

Officers were dispatched to the hospital for an assault complaint. The victim was assaulted in the High School Locker Room by another student. The victim was struck in the nose which was slightly dislocated. The matter is under investigation.

May 12: Officers responded to a malicious destruction of property complaint. The complainant stated that someone broke out one of her car windows. A possible suspect has been identified. The matter remains under investigation.

Officers were dispatched to a dispute at an apartment complex between an ex-boyfriend and girlfriend. No assault took place. Officers stood by so the female could obtain some of her baby’s items.

Officers responded to an animal control complaint. A cat was trapped in a city trap and the cat owner was upset. The cat was transported to the Animal Control Shelter.

Officers responded to a private property damage accident at a business in the city. The driver backed into a light pole causing minor damage to the vehicle. A report was completed.

May 13: Officers located a student at the Reed City High School that had an outstanding warrant out of Mecosta County for malicious destruction of property. The subject was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident.

Officers did a peace officer stand by at a residence in the city so the complainant could retrieve an item from the residence. There were no problems.

Officers responded to a dog at large complaint. The dog was not running at large when the officer arrived however there were multiple witnesses that seen the dog. The matter is being turned over to the city attorney.

Officers assisted the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office at a residence outside the city. The complainant called and stated that subjects were breaking into his house. The complainant further stated that the subjects were now in his house with a gun. Officers arrived on scene to find that the incident did not occur and the complainant was high on drugs. The matter is being handled by the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.

May 14: Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. It was discovered that the driver was operating without a valid license. The driver was cited at the scene and released.

May 15: Officers received a tip of the whereabouts of a wanted subject. Officers attempted to locate the subject and were unable to find him at the address provided.
