May 29

  • n While on patrol an officer identified an individual as having an outstanding warrant. The suspect was arrested, transported to Osceola County Sheriff’s Department and lodged on charges.

May 30

  • An officer was dispatched to a one car property damage accident, there were no injuries.
  • An officer was dispatched to investigate a larceny complaint. The case remains open pending further investigation.
  • An officer was dispatched to a residence reference an assault complaint. The suspect was arrested, transported to Osceola County Sheriff’s Department and lodged on charges.
  • An officer took a found property report (Purple Bicycle). The property will be kept at the Evart Police Department for 30 days or until claimed by the owner.
  • An officer was dispatched to a civil dispute. The officer made contact with the parties involved and advised them to resolve their differences in Civil Court.

May 31

  • An officer was dispatched to three civil disputes. The officer made contact with the parties involved and advised them to resolve their differences in a civilized manner.
  • An officer was dispatched to a residence reference an assault complaint. The case remains open pending further investigation.

June 1

  • An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a Malicious Destruction of Property complaint. The case is open pending further investigation.

June 2

  • An officer was dispatched to assist the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department on a traffic stop outside the City.

June 3

  • An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a harassment complaint. The suspect left the area before the officer arrived.
  • Several blight violations were observed by the Evart Police Officers. The officers sent out notification letters to the property owners. The property owners have 10 days to correct the violations to avoid being cited.
  • An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a bond violation. The suspect was arrested, transported to Osceola County Sheriff’s Department and lodged on charges.

May 28

  • Officers were called to the hospital for a disorderly subject. Officers arrived on scene and were able to get the subject under control who was given a warning. There were no further problems.
  • Officers located a vehicle on the side of the road that needed assistance. One of the passengers in the vehicle had passed out and was in need of EMS. EMS was called to the scene.

May 31

  • Officers were dispatched to an apartment complex for a loud music complaint. The subject with the loud music was located and cited at the scene.
  • Officers served abatement notices at residences that were failing to maintain their grass. The owners have the allotted time to correct the violation or further enforcement action will be taken.
  • Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. It was discovered that the driver was operating without insurance on the vehicle. The driver was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident.
  • Officers responded to a residence for an assault complaint involving a juvenile victim. A report was taken and the matter is under investigation.

June 1

  • Officers were called to S Patterson Rd near 4 Mile Rd for a suspicious vehicle sitting on the side of the road with two occupants. Officers arrived in the area and the vehicle was gone.
  • Officers on patrol located a subject at her residence that had an outstanding warrant for larceny stemming from an incident at the Village Laundry where a comforter was stolen out of a washing machine. The subject was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident.

June 2

  • Officers were called to an apartment complex for an illegal dumping complaint. A suspect has been identified and the matter is under investigation.
  • Officers on patrol located several subjects outside the Depot. Officers talked with one of the subjects and determined he was in violation of his probation conditions. A report was forwarded to his probation officer.
  • Officers were dispatched to an apartment complex for a loud music complaint. The subjects with the loud music was located and cited at the scene.

June 3

  • Officers responded to a residence for a harassing phone calls complaint. The complainant was being harassed via phone and computer by her boyfriend’s ex. A report was completed and submitted to the City Attorney seeking an arrest warrant on the suspect.
  • Officers were called to the area of W Todd Ave for a dog at large complaint. Officers arrived on scene and the dog could not be located.
  • Officers located an unregistered vehicle parked in the parking lot of an apartment complex. The owner was located and served with an abatement notice. The owner has the allotted time to correct the violation or further enforcement action will be taken.
  • Officers responded to a residence for a civil child custody dispute. There was no court order in place. The parties involved were provided with a course of action.

Sheriff’s Report

May 27 to June 2

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office investigated several complaints for the above week. The following is a brief summery for some of that activity which occurred.

May 27

  • Deputies conducted a traffic stop within Rose Lake Township on a vehicle for failing to dim their headlights. Through investigation the deputies determined that said operator was driving their vehicle while intoxicated. The driver was then arrested and transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident.
  • Deputies were dispatched to a residence within Rose Lake Township on the report of a breaking and entering complaint. Upon arrival the deputies discovered that someone had entered the complainant’s garage, and took a Kawasaki 4-wheeler. The deputies completed their investigation and cleared the scene without incident. This investigation is open, pending additional follow-up.

May 28

  • Deputies were dispatched to a residence within the Village of Tustin on the report of a domestic assault complaint. Upon arrival to the scene the deputies secured the scene, and through investigation determined that an assault did occur. At that time the aggressor was arrested for said incident, and was transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident.

May 29

  • Deputies investigated two vehicle crashes, which occurred within Evart and Hartwick Townships.

May 30

  • Deputies were dispatched to a business alarm, which was reported within Richmond Township. Upon arrival the deputies found the building to be secure, and cleared the scene without incident.
  • A deputy investigated a vehicle crash, which occurred within Reed City.

May 31

  • Deputies investigated three vehicle crashes, which occurred within Lincoln and Marion Townships.
  • Deputies were dispatched to Sylvan Township on the report of a suspicious truck, which was seen in the area. Upon arrival the deputies patrolled the area, however were unable to locate said truck.

June 1

  • Deputies investigated 2 vehicle crashes, and 1 crash involving injuries. Incidents occurred within Richmond and Highland Townships.
  • A sergeant was dispatched to a breaking and entering complaint, which occurred at the concession trailer, within the Village of Marion. Through investigation it was discovered that someone entered said trailer and took numerous cans of pop, Gatorade and several packages of hotdogs. The Sergeant completed his investigation and cleared the scene without incident.

June 2

  • Deputies were dispatched to a business within the City of Evart on the report of a disorderly person, however said subject left the scene prior to the deputy’s arrival. While responding to the scene the deputies located said suspect’s vehicle operating within Evart Township and conducted a traffic stop for driving left of center. Through investigation the deputies determined the operator was driving their vehicle while under the influence of drugs, and the driver was arrested and transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident.
  • A deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle within Evart Township in reference to creditable information received about the driver’s driving status. The driver was then arrested for driving with a suspended license, and no insurance. The driver was then transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident.
  • Deputies investigated two vehicle crashes, which occurred within Evart and Sherman Townships.
