May 21

  • Officers responded to a residence for a reported physical child abuse complaint on three children.  Officers arrived on scene and investigated the matter.  Child Protective Services was called to the scene to take immediate intervention actions.  A report was completed and submitted to the Prosecutor’s Office seeking an arrest warrant on the father of the children for child abuse.
  • Officers were dispatched to a business for a larceny complaint.  The complainant advised that while she was at the business someone had stolen money from her purse.  A report was completed and the matter is under investigation.
  • Officers responded to a residence for a property dispute between neighbors.  The parties were warned and provided with a course of action.
  • Officers were called to the area of W Slosson Ave for a complaint of children on the roof of a residence.  Officers arrived on scene and the children were gone.
  • Officers issued numerous grass abatement notices to property owners for failing to maintain their grass.  The property owners have the allotted time to correct the violation or further enforcement action will be taken.
  • Officers on patrol located a subject at his residence that had an outstanding warrant out of Osceola County for Failure to Appear.  The subject was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident.

May 22

  • Officers investigated a harassment complaint at the School.  The parties were involved were talked to and warned about their actions.
  • Officers responded to a residence for an illegal burn causing a fire hazard.  The subject had an open burn and was burning trash in the fire.  The subject was cited at the scene.

May 23

  • Officers were dispatched to a business for a retail fraud complaint.  The complainant advised that a customer had come into the store and had stolen items.  A report was completed and the matter is under investigation.
  • Officers responded to a residence for a breaking and entering complaint.  The complainant advised that while he was gone someone had broken into his apartment.  A report was completed and the matter is under investigation.
  • Officers were dispatched to a residence in the city for an assault complaint that was referred by Child Protective Services.  The victim’s uncle was reported to have choked his niece.  A report was completed and the matter is under investigation.
  • Officers responded to a residence for a well being check.  The complainant had not heard from her family member in a long time.  Officers arrived on scene and found the subject to be OK.
  • Officers were dispatched to a residence for an animal control complaint.  It was reported that the suspect was allowing his pet rabbits to run free.  Officers arrived on scene and spoke with the subject who was given a warning.
  • Officers responded to a residence for a fraud complaint.  The complainant received an email stating that a company would be withdrawing money from his account.  The complainant was advised to contact his bank as soon as possible.  A report was completed and the matter is under investigation.
  • Officers assisted EMS with an intoxicated subject that had fallen into a coffee table at an apartment complex in the city.

May 24

  •  Officers assisted Child Protective Services with interviews regarding a case they are investigating.
  • Officers responded to the High School for a larceny of a bike complaint.  The bike was stolen while the complainant was in class.  A report was completed and the matter is under investigation.
  • Officers were called to the Hospital to transport a subject to the Hadley Center on a Court Order.  The transport was accomplished without incident.

May 25

  • Officers were called to the Motel for a trespassing complaint.  A report was completed and the matter is under investigation.
  • Officers were called to a business in the 200 block of W Upton Ave for a private property damage accident.  There were no injuries and only minor damage.  A report was completed.
  • Officers responded to a business for a security alarm.  Officers arrived on scene to find the building secure.  The property owner was notified.
  • Officers on patrol located an open door at a business in the city.  The building was searched and found to be secure.  The property owner was notified.

May 26

  • Officers located a subject at his residence that had an outstanding 2 count felony warrant for child abuse.  The subject was arrested and lodged in the Osceola County Jail without incident.
  • Officers on patrol stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation.  It was discovered that the driver was in possession of open intoxicants.  The driver was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident.
  • Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation.  It was discovered that the passenger in the vehicle had an outstanding warrant for probation violation out of White Cloud Circuit Court.  The passenger was arrested on the warrant and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident.

May 27

  • Officers were called to a residence for a harassment complaint.  The complainant was being harassed in public by a neighbor.  A report was completed and the matter is under investigation.
  • Officers on patrol were dispatched to an open door complaint at a business.  Officers arrived on scene and checked the building.  The property owner was called to secure the door.
  • Officers responded to a residence for a larceny complaint.  The complainant advised that someone had stolen a decorative cannon from her porch.  A report was completed and the matter is under investigation.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the Reed City Police Department at 231-832-3743.

May 22

  • An officer was dispatched to a harassment complaint. The officer advised both parties to avoid further contact with each other.
  • An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a suspicious situation which was determined to be unfounded.
  • An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a welfare check.  The individual was transported to Spectrum Health, Reed City for medical treatment. The case is closed.
  • An officer was dispatched to a complaint of a found dog.  The officer turned the dog over to the Osceola County Animal Shelter.
  • An officer was dispatched to a local business reference a complaint of retail fraud.  The case remains open pending further investigation.

May 23

  • An officer was dispatched to a school reference a larceny complaint.  The case is open pending further investigation.
  • An officer was dispatched to a business reference a trespassing complaint.  The officer advised the suspect of the No Trespass order.

May 24

  • An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a barking dog complaint. The officer made contact with the owner and advised them of the City’s ordinance.
  • An officer was dispatched to a two car property damage accident, there were no injuries.
  • An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a dog at large complaint. The officer made contact with the owner and advised them of the City’s ordinance.

May 25

  • An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a PPO violation.  The officer spoke to the complainant and the report has been forwarded to the Osceola County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for review.
  • An officer was dispatched to investigate a complaint of Criminal Sexual Conduct.  The case is open pending further investigation.

May 27

  • An officer was dispatched to assist the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department on a complaint of runaways outside of the city.
  • An officer was dispatched to two business reference alarms. One was due to occupant error and the other was due to a power outage.
  • An officer was dispatched to a business reference a trespassing complaint.  The officer spoke to the complainant, and the case is open pending contact with the suspect.
