June 17

  • Officers were called to the Hospital for an assault complaint.  Upon arrival the complainant no longer wished to file a report.
  • Officers served vehicle abatements at residences that had inoperable vehicles parked on the property.  The owners have the allotted time to correct the violation or further enforcement action will be taken.
  • Officers located a subject at his residence that had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for Contempt of Court out of the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office.  The subject was arrested and turned over to Mecosta County Deputies without incident.
  • Officers responded to a residence for a well being check.  Officers received a report of a possible suicidal subject at the residence.  Officers arrived on scene and found that the subject was not suicidal but was in violation of a Bond Conditional Release Order.  The subject was arrested for violating his bond conditions and lodged at the Osceola County Jail.

June 18

  • Officers responded to a business for a child abuse complaint.  Upon arrival it was determined that the incident occurred outside of the city.  The complaint was turned over to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.
  • Officers were dispatched to a residence for a domestic disturbance.  Upon arrival it was determined that it was a verbal argument only.  The parties were warned and provided with a course of action.

June 19

  • Officers responded to a business for a Retail Fraud complaint.  The suspect had attempted to steal diet pills from the business.  The suspect was located and interviewed.  The matter has been submitted to the City Attorney seeking an arrest warrant.

June 21

  • Officers were called to a business for a road rage complaint.  Officers arrived on scene and spoke with both parties.  Verbal warnings were issued to the parties involved.
  • Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation.  It was discovered that the driver was operating on a suspended license.  The driver was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident.
  • Officers issued grass abatement notices to property owners that were failing to maintain their grass.  The residents have the allotted time to correct the violation or further enforcement action will be taken.

June 22

  • Officers responded to a residence for a civil matter regarding property being moved.  No crime was committed.  The complainant was advised on a course of action.
  • Officers were called to the parking lot of a business for a private property damage accident.  There was minor damage and no injuries.  A report was completed.
  • Officers located a subject at her residence that had an outstanding warrant for retail fraud.  The subject was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident.
  • Officers were dispatched to a landlord/tenant dispute.  Officers arrived on scene and spoke with both parties who were advised of a course of action.

June 23

  • Officers were called to a residence for a well being check on a subject who may need medical attention.  Officers arrived on scene and found that the subject was ok.
  • Officers were requested by Child Protective Services to do a well being check on children at a residence in the city.  Officers arrived on scene and found that the children were safe and no further action needed to be taken.
  • Officers were called to a residence regarding a threats complaint.  Officers arrived on scene and spoke with the parties involved.  The subjects came to a resolution at the scene and the matter is closed.

June 24

  • Officers were dispatched to a landlord/tenant dispute.  Officers arrived on scene and spoke with both parties who were advised of a course of action.
  • Officers received a complaint of a vehicle being all over the road.  Officers located the vehicle and performed a traffic stop and determined that the operator of the vehicle was intoxicated.  Officers went to arrest the subject and he made a swinging motion at the officer and took off running on foot.  Officers gave chase and deployed a Taser at the subject and were able to get the suspect in custody.  The subject was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail.

June 18

  • An officer took a found property report (license plate).  The property was returned to its owner.
  • An officer was dispatched to a business reference a dog at large complaint. Upon arrival to the business the officer was informed that a customer took the dog home.
  • An officer was dispatched to three civil disputes.  The officer made contact with the parties involved and advised them to resolve their differences in a civilized manner.
  • An officer was dispatched to two residences reference larceny complaints.  The cases remain open pending further investigation.

June 19

  • An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a welfare check.  The individual was transported to Spectrum Health, Reed City for medical treatment. The case is closed.
  • Several blight violations were observed by the Evart Police Officers. The officers sent out notification letters to the property owners. The property owners have 10 days to correct the violations to avoid being cited.
  • An officer was dispatched to an area check for a possible violation of a controlled substance.  The suspect left the area before the officer arrived.
  • An officer was dispatched to a welfare check.  The individual was transported to Spectrum Health, Reed City for medical treatment. The case is closed.

June 20

  • An officer was dispatched to a one car personal property damage accident, there were no injuries.
  • An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a neighbor dispute.  The officer made contact with the subjects and advised the suspect of the City’s Ordinance.
  • An officer was dispatched to a complaint of an intoxicated subject in the middle of the road.  The individual was transported to Spectrum Health, Reed City for medical treatment. The case was turned over to the Osceola County Prosecuting Attorney for review.

June 21

  • An officer took a found property report (wallet).  The property was returned to its owner.
  • An officer was dispatched to assist EMS on a medical call.
  • An officer was dispatched to a local business reference a complaint of larceny.  The case remains open pending further investigation.
  • An officer was dispatched to a business reference a 911 hang up.  The officer made contact with employees in the business and found everyone to be secure.

June 22

  • An officer was dispatched to a business reference a larceny complaint.  The case remains open pending further investigation.
  • An officer was dispatched to a local business reference a complaint of retail fraud.  The case remains open pending further investigation.
  • An officer was dispatched to a one car property damage accident, there were no injuries.
  • An officer was requested to assist a citizen with a potential dispute over property.
  • An officer was dispatched to a business reference a fail to return rental property complaint.  The case is open pending contact with the suspect.
  • An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a noise complaint.  The officer made contact with the subjects and advised the suspect of the City’s Ordinance.

June 23

  • An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a neighbor dispute.  The officer made contact with the subjects and advised them to avoid contact with each other.

  • An officer was dispatched to assist a citizen with a complaint of a possible violation of a controlled substance.  K-9 Yogi searched the area and did not locate any controlled substances.
  • An officer was dispatched to a welfare check.  The individual was found to be secure and with their personal care giver.  The case is closed.

  • An officer was dispatched to a business reference a dispute.  The officer made contact with the parties involved and advised them to avoid contact with each other.
