June 13 to 19

June 13: An officer was dispatched to an area check. The officer searched and found the area to be clear.

June 14: An officer was dispatched to two residences reference stolen bicycle complaints. The officer searched the areas and was unable to locate the bicycles. The cases are open pending further investigation.

While on patrol an officer identified an individual as having an outstanding warrant. The suspect was arrested, transported to OCSD and lodged on charges.

An officer assisted the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department on a harassment complaint.

An officer assisted a local business with a disorderly person.

An officer was dispatched to two Malicious Destruction of Property complaints. Photos were taken of the damage. The cases are open pending further investigation.

An officer was dispatched to a Property Damage Accident complaint at a church. Photos were taken of the damaged window. The case is open pending further investigation.

June 15: An officer took a found property report (black wallet). The property will be kept at the Police Department for 30 days or until claimed by the owner.

An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a Dog at Large complaint. The officer spoke to the complainant and a citation was issued to the dog owner.

An officer was dispatched to two traffic complaints. The officer spoke to the complainants and citations were issued to the suspects.

An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a 911 hang up. The officer spoke to the home owner and cleared the scene requiring no further action.

An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a larceny complaint. The officer searched the area and was unable to locate the gazing ball and stand. The case is open pending further investigation.

June 16: An officer was dispatched to a local business reference a disorderly person complaint. The officer spoke to the complainant and witnesses. The case is open pending further investigation.

An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a neighbor dispute. The officer spoke to the parties involved and advise them to avoid each other to prevent any further problems.

June 13: A subject reported that he was being harassed while leaving a business in the city. The incident stemmed over a road rage incident. The matter is being investigated.

Officers served abatement notices to property owners in the city for grass violations. The property owners have the allotted time to correct the violation or they will be cited.

Officers responded to an alarm at a business in the city. The building was found to be secure and the alarm was accidentally set off by the cleaners.

Officers were dispatched to a juvenile runaway complaint. The child was found a short time later and was allowed to stay with family members for the night.

June 14: Officers responded to a possible malicious damage of property complaint. The caller reported that someone was painting on the walls under the North Chestnut St Bridge. It was discovered that the person painting was fixing the damage caused by earlier people placing graffiti on the mural.

Officers assisted the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department on a larceny in progress call at a residence outside the city. Once the scene was secure the officer returned to patrol duties within the city.

Officers assisted the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department on a disorderly subject’s complaint where 3 subjects were fighting at a residence outside of the city. Once the scene was secure the officer returned to patrol duties within the city.

June 15: Officers responded to a larceny complaint at a business in the city. The complaint stated she set her wallet down on a table, left and discovered once she got home that she did not have it. The complaint retraced her steps and could not locate the wallet where she left it. The matter is under investigation.

Officers assisted the Reed City Fire Department with traffic control for down power lines on S. Patterson Rd. at W. Church St.

A subject in the city located a dog running at large and turned it over to the police department. The log was lodged in the Animal Control Shelter.

June 16: Officers responded to a City Park for a larceny complaint. An unknown person stole a picnic table from the pavilion. Anyone with information is asked to call the Reed City Police Department.

Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. It was discovered that the driver was operating on an expired license. The driver was cited at the scene and released.

Officers were dispatched to a call of children sitting in the roadway. The parents were notified and advised to take corrective action.

Officers responded to a barking dog complaint. The complainant stated that the neighbor’s dogs were barking for 20 minutes. No dogs were barking upon the officer’s arrival.

Officers were dispatched to a complaint of a vehicle being egged. A report was completed; there are no suspects at this time.

Officers responded to a barking dog complaint. Upon arrival of the officer the dog was not barking. The subject stated that he had a guest knock on the door and it made the dog bark. The complaint was unfounded.

Officers on patrol discovered portions of a fence broken at a City Park. A report was completed and the matter remains under investigation.

June 17: Officers responded to an apartment complex in the city for a malicious damage to property complaint. The complainant reported that someone had egged her motorcycle. The suspects involved have been identified and a warrant request is being submitted to the city attorney regarding the matter.

Officers were dispatched to a minor hit and run private property damage accident that occurred in the parking lot of a business. There were no injuries. A report was completed and the matter is under investigation.

Officers responded to a barking dog complaint. The dog owner was located and given a warning.

Officers issued an abatement notice for an unregistered vehicle parked in a yard. The owner has the allotted time to correct the violation or he will be cited.

Officers on patrol observed multiple subjects fighting in front of a residence in the city. Upon the subjects seeing the patrol unit they fled on foot. After a foot pursuit all of the subjects were located. One of the parties involved was arrested at the scene for being in violation of their probation conditions. Warrant requests will be submitted to the city attorney regarding the matter.

June 18: Officers issued an abatement notice to a business for having overgrown grass and weeds. The owner has the allotted time to correct the violation of further enforcement action will be taken.

Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. It was discovered that the driver was operating on a suspended license. The driver was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident.

June 19: Troopers were dispatched to Green Twp regarding a domestic assault where shots had been fired. Investigation revealed that a rifle had been fired inside the residence, but no one had been hurt. The suspect was arrested and lodged in the Mecosta County Jail, pending formal charges.
