Evart Police Report — July 9 to 15

July 9
  • While on patrol an officer identified two individuals as having outstanding warrants. The suspects were arrested, transported to Osceola County Sheriff’s Department and lodged on charges.
July 10
  • An officer was dispatched to a civil dispute. The officer made contact with the parties involved and advised them to resolve their differences in a civilized manner.
  • An officer took a found property report (phone and wallet). The property was returned to its owner.
  • An officer took a found property report (white purse). The property will be kept at the Evart Police Department for 30 days or until claimed by the owner.
  • An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a breaking and entering complaint. The case is open pending further investigation.
  • An officer was dispatched to a well-being check. The officer made contact with the minors, and returned them to their mother.
  • An officer was dispatched to a residence reference assisting a citizen with serving a no-trespassing order. The no-trespassing order was served to the suspect. Case closed.

  • An officer was dispatched to assist the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department on a call outside the city.
  • An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a complaint of Domestic Violence. The officer spoke to the complainant, and the suspect was arrested, transported to Osceola County Sheriff’s Department and lodged on charges.
  • An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a trespassing complaint. The officer spoke to the complainant, and the suspect was arrested, transported to Osceola County Sheriff’s Department and lodged on charges.
July 12
  • An officer took a found property report (black wallet). The property will be kept at the Evart Police Department for 30 days or until claimed by the owner.
  • An officer took a found property report (1991 Evart Rocket Football Champs photo and plaque). The property will be kept at the Evart Police Department for 30 days or until claimed by the owner.
July 13
  • An officer was dispatched to assist the Michigan State Police on a call outside the city.
July 15
  • An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a complaint of Domestic Assault. The officer spoke to the complainant, and the suspect was arrested, transported to Osceola County Sheriff’s Department and lodged on charges.
 

Reed City Police Report — July 9 to 15

July 9
  • Officers responded to a business for a malicious destruction of property complaint. The complainant reported that someone had spray painted a wall of her building. A report was completed and the matter is under investigation.
  • Officers investigated a reckless driving complaint where the driver of a vehicle was driving recklessly in a construction zone. The suspect has been identified and the matter is under further investigation.
  • Officers were called to the area of Decalb St. for a suspicious person in the neighborhood. Officers checked the area and were not able to locate the subject.
  • Officers observed subjects taking bags of cans from a business in the city. The subject was stopped and he stated he had permission from the owner’s son to take the cans. The subject’s information was obtained and the property owner was contacted.
July 10
  • Officers were called to an apartment complex for an unwanted subject on the property. Officers arrived on scene and the subject had left. A No Trespass Order was drafted by the Manager and the subject was later located and served.
  • Officers were called to a gas station for a gas drive off complaint. Officers located the subject and he stated that he thought his girlfriend paid for the gas when she went into the store. It was determined that it was a miscommunication and the subject returned to pay for the gas.
  • Officers responded to a business for a retail fraud complaint. The subject had stolen merchandise from the store and when store employees tried to stop the suspect she fled. Employees were able to obtain the license plate number and the suspect has been identified. The matter is under investigation.
July 11
  • Officers were dispatched to the parking lot of a business for a private property damage accident. There were no injuries and only minor damage. A report was completed.
  • Officers responded to a residence for a civil complaint over ownership of a vehicle. Both parties were provided with a course of action and they were able to come to an agreement. The matter is now closed.
  • Officers were dispatched to a residence for a larceny complaint. The complainant advised that someone had cut a key box off of the door to the residence. A report was completed and the matter is under investigation.
  • Officers responded to a residence for an assault complaint. The complainant advised that his daughter’s boyfriend showed up to the residence looking for his girlfriend, shoved his way into the house and began assaulting the complainant. The suspect later pulled a steak knife on the complainant. The suspect fled the scene as the complainant was calling 911. The matter is under investigation.
July 12
  • Officers assisted the Reed City Fire Department with traffic control at the scene of a fire where a truck had struck power lines.
  • Officers responded to a residence for a malicious destruction of property complaint. The complainant advised that someone had smashed holes in two of her flower pots. A report was completed and the matter is under investigation.
  • Officers were called to a residence for a civil complaint over possession of a cell phone. The parties were advised on a course of action.
July 13
  • Officers located a subject at her residence that had an outstanding warrant for retail fraud. The subject was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident.
  • Officers responded to an apartment complex for a complaint of a smell of marijuana. Officers arrived on scene and were unable to locate the smell.
  • Officers were dispatched to a residence for a suicidal subject who had cut his neck with a knife. The subject fled prior to the arrival of officers but was located a short distance later in the yard of a residence. Officers took the subject into protective custody and he was transported to the hospital by EMS for treatment.
July 14
  • Officers were called to an apartment complex for a complaint of fireworks. Officers arrived on scene and the subjects had left.
  • Officers were dispatched to a residence on E. Todd Avenue for a loud party complaint. Officers arrived on scene and the property owners were given a warning.
July 15
  • Officers assisted Lake County Probation and Parole in locating a subject at a residence in Reed City that had an outstanding warrant for Parole Absconder. The subject was arrested and transported to the county line where he was turned over to Lake County Deputies. The subject attempted to flee as he was being turned over to Lake County but was subdued.
