REED CITY

July 30

  • Officers responded to a residence for a larceny of prescription medication complaint. The complainant stated that while they were gone someone came in and stole two bottles of their medications. The matter is under investigation.
  • Officers were called for a subject yelling and screaming in W Upton Ave. Officers arrived on scene and did not observe any violations.
  • Officers responded to a dog at large complaint. Both dogs were captured and lodged at the Osceola County Animal Shelter.
  • Officers assisted a subject with a civil matter regarding a social networking site. The complainant was advised on a course of action.
  • Officers responded to an apartment complex for a larceny of a vacuum from a vacant apartment that was being cleaned by staff. A report was completed and the matter is under investigation.
  • Officers assisted EMS on a medical call at a residence in the city.
  • Officers assisted the Reed City Fire Department with a fire alarm at an apartment complex in the city. The alarm was determined to be false.

July 31

  • Officers on patrol located a subject walking that had an outstanding warrant for contempt of court out of the Big Rapids Department of Public Safety. The subject was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident.
  • Officers on patrol located a subject at his residence that had three outstanding warrants out for his arrest from various jurisdictions. The subject was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident.
  • Officers were called to N Roth St for a car doing donuts in the roadway. Upon arrival of the officers the vehicle had left the area.
  • Officers assisted the staff at the motel with a complaint of too many people in a room. It was determined that the subjects were homeless and had nowhere to go. Arrangements were made and the matter is now closed.

August 1

  • Officers responded to an apartment complex for a juvenile trespassing complaint. The juvenile had been asked multiple times by staff to not ride his bike on the property and he continues to be disrespectful to them. The juvenile was located and given a warning in front of his mother to stay off the property.
  • Officers were dispatched to a barking dog complaint on North Ave. The dog owner was located and given a warning.

August 2

  • Officers responded to a personal injury accident on N Patterson Rd involving two vehicles. Both subjects were transported to Spectrum Heath Hospital for non life threatening injuries. A report was completed.
  • Officers served a vehicle abatement on a dismantled vehicle parked in a yard of a residence. The owner has the allotted time to correct the violation or face further enforcement action.

August 3

  • Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation, it was discovered that the driver was operating on a suspended license. The driver was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident.
  • Officers assisted Probation and Parole in locating and arresting one of their probationers. The subject was located at his residence and in numerous violations of his probation. The subject was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail after being medically cleared by the hospital due to his intoxication level.
  • Officers were called for a report of kids banging on the GT Elementary School windows. Officers arrived on scene and no children were located.

August 4

  • Officers received a report of a possible suicidal subject at a residence in the city. Officers arrived on scene to find the home unlocked and no one home. The subject was later found to be safe at his mothers.
  • Officers responded to a verbal domestic dispute at an apartment complex in the city. No assault had taken place. The parties were warned and provided with a course of action.
  • Officers were dispatched to a residence for a possible domestic. Upon arrival it was determined to be a verbal argument. The parties were warned and provided a course of action.
  • Officers on patrol located subjects yelling and screaming in the intersection of Chestnut St and Upton Ave. The subjects were talked to and one of which was found to be in violation of his probation conditions for drinking, possession of marijuana and being a disorderly person. This subject was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident.
  • Officers were called to a bar for an assault complaint. The complainant stated he was hit in the face in the bar by a female. The officer was getting conflicting stories. The matter is open pending further investigation.

August 5

  • Officers responded to a residence for a threats complaint. Both parties were talked to and warned to leave each other alone or further enforcement action will be taken.

  • Officers were dispatched to an alarm at a business in the city. The building was searched and found to be secure. The property owner was notified.
  • Officers were called to an apartment complex parking lot for a noisy vehicle. The owner of the vehicle stated he was working on the car and was almost done.
  • Officers investigated an attempted larceny from a motor vehicle. The owner of the vehicle walked outside and the suspects who were rummaging around inside the vehicle took off running. The suspect has been identified and the matter is under investigation.
