July 23

  • An officer took a found property report (two bikes).  The property will be kept at the Evart Police Department for 30 days or until claimed by the owner.
  • An officer was dispatched to a welfare check.  The individual was found to be secure.
  • An officer investigated a harassment complaint. The officer advised the suspect to cease contact with the complainant.

July 24

  • An officer was dispatched to 2 residence reference breaking and entering complaints.  The cases remain open pending further investigation.
  • An officer was dispatched to assist the Michigan State Police on a call outside the City.
  • An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a Malicious Destruction of Property complaint. The case remains open pending further investigation.
  • An officer was dispatched to a car / bike accident.  The case remains open pending further investigation.
  • An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a larceny of a bike complaint.  The case remains open pending further investigation.
  • An officer took a found property report (bike).  The property will be kept at the Evart Police Department for 30 days or until claimed by the owner.

July 25

  • An officer was dispatched to assist the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department on a call.
  • An officer was dispatched to an area check of suspects throwing lit fireworks out of their car as they drive down the road.  The subjects left the area prior to the arrival of the officer.
  • An officer was dispatched to a business reference an alarm.  The officer searched the building, the surrounding area and found everything to be secure.

July 26

  • An officer was dispatched to a welfare check.  The individual was found to be secure.
  • An officer was dispatched to a 911 hang up.  All individuals were found to be secure.

July 27

  • An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a harassment complaint. The officer advised both parties to avoid further contact with each other.
  • An officer was dispatched to a local business reference a complaint of retail fraud.  The case remains open pending further investigation.

July 28

  • An officer was dispatched to an area check reference subjects looking in the windows of a residence.  The subjects left the area before the officer arrived on scene.
  • An officer was dispatched to assist the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department on a call outside the City.
  • An officer was dispatched to a welfare check.  The individual was taken to Reed City Hospital for further treatment.

July 29

  • An officer was dispatched to assist the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department on a call.
  • An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a trespassing complaint.  The officer spoke to the complainant, and the suspect was served with a no-trespassing order.

July 23

  • Officers responded to a residence for a subject trespassing in the complainant’s yard.  The subject was located and served a no trespass warning to stay off the property.
  • Officers assisted EMS on a medical alarm at a residence in the city.  It was determined to be a false alarm.

July 24

  • Officers were dispatched to a residence for a larceny of a bicycle complaint.  A report was completed and the matter is under investigation.
  • Officers located a subject at a business in the city that had an outstanding warrant for Parole Absconder.  The subject was arrested and lodged in the Osceola County Jail without incident.
  • Officers responded to a residence for a larceny of a bicycle complaint.  A report was completed and the matter is under investigation.
  • Officers served a grass abatement at a residence in the city.  The owners have the allotted time to correct the violation or further enforcement action will be taken.
  • Officers responded to an apartment complex for a threats complaint.  The complainant stated she was in the courtyard when another female threatened to cut her throat.  Statements were obtained and the report has been submitted to the City Attorney’s Office seeking an arrest warrant on the suspect.
  • Officers on patrol located an open door at a business in the city.  The building was searched and found to be secure.  The property owner was notified.

July 25

  • Officers responded to a residence for an assault complaint.  A process server was attempting to serve a subpoena on a subject and stated he was assaulted.  Both parties claimed to have been assaulted by the other.  Neither party wished to press charges and the matter is closed.
  • Officers responded to a business for an alarm.  Upon arrival the front door was found to be standing open.  The building was searched and nothing appeared out of place.  The property owner was notified.
  • Officers investigated three separate larcenies from vehicles complaint.  All three victims reported cash and portable electronics stolen.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the Reed City Police Department at 231-832-3743.  As a reminder lock your vehicles at all time and hide or removed valuables from your vehicle.
  • Officers on patrol located an open door at a factory in the city.  The building was searched and found to be secure.  The property owner was notified.

July 26

  • Officers on patrol located a subject on Rails to Trails that had an outstanding warrant for trespassing and disorderly conduct.  The subject was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident.
  • Officers responded to a residence for a civil complaint.  The complainant stated that she allowed someone to borrow her cell phone and he won’t give it back to her.  The complainant was advised that it was a civil complaint and advised of a course of action.
  • Officers were dispatched to a residence for a barking dog complaint.  The dog’s owner was located and given a verbal warning.
  • Officers on patrol located a subject at his residence that had an outstanding felony warrant out of the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office for credit card fraud.  The subject was arrested and turned over to Mecosta County Deputies without incident.
  • Officers were called to S Chestnut St for a subject in all dark clothing riding a bike in the roadway.  Officers stopped and identified the subject who was given a verbal warning.

July 27

  • Officers were called to a residence for a civil complaint.  The complainant was having problems with his girlfriend over property and money.  The complainant was advised that it was a civil matter and provided with a course of action.
  • Officers were called to an apartment complex for an illegal dumping complaint.  The suspect has been identified and the matter is under investigation.
  • Officers responded to a Bank in the city for a fraud complaint.  Initial information was obtained and the matter is under investigation.
  • Officers were dispatched to a residence for a civil complaint.  The complainant was having problems with his wife.  The complainant was advised of a course of action.
  • Officers responded to an apartment complex for a report of a possible intoxicated male that had fallen down in front of the complex and appeared to be in distress.  Officers arrived on scene and spoke with the subject who stated he was fine and did not want EMS.  The subject was helped into his residence.
  • Officers assisted a bar in town with removing an unwanted subject.  The subject was advised to leave and not to return or he would be arrested.

July 28

  • Officers responded to a residence for a civil dispute over property between a couple that was breaking up.  The subjects were provided with a course of action.
  • Officers investigated an embezzlement complaint at a business in the city.  The business owner stated that an employee had stolen over $4,000 from the business.  A report was completed and the matter is under investigation.
  • Officers located a dog running at large.  The dog was transported to the Osceola County Animal Shelter.
  • Officers assisted the Michigan State Police on a traffic stop on US 10.  Once the scene was secure the officer returned to patrol duties within the city.

July 29

  • Officers responded to E Slosson Ave for a complaint of a young child in the street yelling.  Officers arrived on scene and located the parents.  The parents were given a verbal warning.
  • Officers located two juveniles in the parking lot of a business that was closed.  The subjects were talked to and advised to return home.  The children’s parents were contacted.
