Jan. 30 to Feb. 5

Jan. 30: A weapon was turned over to an Evart officer that had been found at one of the schools. The weapon was secured into evidence for safe keeping.

An officer assisted the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department on an area check.

Jan. 31: An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a welfare check. The individual was found to be secure. The case is closed.

An officer was dispatched to a one car private property damage accident, there were no injuries.

An officer responded to a residence reference a Violation of Controlled Substance complaint.

An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a suspicious situation. A resident reported the smell of illegal substances in the air. The officer searched the area, and was not able to locate the illegal substances.

Feb. 1: An officer was dispatched to assist the Reed City Police Department with locating an individual.

An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a domestic assault. The officer spoke to the complainant. The suspect was arrested, transported to Osceola County Sheriff’s Department and lodged on charges.

An officer was dispatched to a civil complaint involving a minor. The officer stood by until the parties came to a mutual agreement.

Feb. 2: An officer was dispatched to a complaint of a suspicious person entering a residence without authorization. The suspect left the area prior to the arrival of the officer.

An officer is investigating an attempted break in at a local business. The case is still open.

Feb. 3: An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a disorderly person. The officer spoke to the parties involved. The case has been turned over to the Osceola County Prosecuting Attorney for review and charges.

An officer was dispatched to an area check for a suspicious person knocking on doors to residences and then running. The suspect left the area prior to the arrival of the officer.

Feb. 4: An officer assisted the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department on a traffic stop.

An officer was dispatched to an area check of two subjects fighting in the street. The individuals left the area prior to the arrival of the officer.

An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a welfare check. The individual was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Feb. 5: An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a harassment complaint. The officer spoke to all parties involved and advised them to avoid contact with each other. The case is closed.

An officer assisted the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department on a welfare check.

An officer was dispatched to an area check of a suspicious person looking through the windows of residences. The suspect left the area prior to the arrival of the officer.

An officer was dispatched to assist the Michigan State Police on a complaint.

Jan. 30: Officers investigated a malicious destruction of property complaint at the High School. The matter is under investigation.

Officers assisted the school on a weapons offense. A student brought a knife to school. A report has been completed and submitted to probate court for action.

Officers responded to a business in the city for a retail fraud complaint. The suspect attempted to steal a box of over the counter medication. The suspect was located and the report has been submitted to the City Attorney seeking an arrest warrant.

Officers on patrol located a stray dog; it was transported to the Animal Shelter pending owner pickup.

Jan. 31: Officers responded to W. Slosson Ave for a two vehicle property damage accident. There were no injuries and minor damage. A report was completed.

Officers assisted Child Protective Services in doing a well being check of a residence in the city. Everything was determined to be OK and the matter was turned back over to CPS.

Officers responded to a business in the city for a telephone harassment complaint. The complainant was receiving numerous harassing phone calls from her ex-boyfriend at work and on her cell phone. The suspect was advised to stop making calls to the complainant. The complainant did not wish to pursue charges at this time.

Officers investigated a larceny complaint at a residence in the city. The complainant had medication stolen from her home. Possible suspects have been identified and the matter is under investigation.

Officers assisted Child Protective Services on a home inspection.

Officers were dispatched to a malicious destruction of property complaint at a residence in the city. A report was completed and the matter is under investigation.

Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. It was discovered that the driver was operating on an expired temporary instructional license. The driver was given an appearance citation at the scene and released.

Officers responded to a business in the city for a retail fraud complaint. The suspect stole a pack of cigarettes when the clerk was not looking. The suspect has been identified and the matter has been submitted to the City Attorney seeking an arrest warrant.

Feb. 2: Officers were dispatched to the High School for a domestic assault complaint between boyfriend and girlfriend. The male subject had assaulted the female. A report was completed and the matter has been submitted to the Prosecutor’s Office for an arrest warrant.

Officers assisted the Mason County Sheriff’s Office in interview witnesses to a case that they were handling.

Officers were dispatched to a barking dog complaint. The dog was not barking at the time the officer arrived. The dog owner was located and advised about the situation.

Officers located a subject at his residence that had an outstanding warrant for Child Abuse. The subject was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident.

Officers responded to a business in the city for a larceny complaint. Former employees of the business had stolen items while leaving. The suspects have been identified and the matter is under investigation.

Officers picked a subject up at the Lake County Jail that had an outstanding warrant for Retail Fraud. The subject was transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident.

Feb. 3: Officers responded to the Elementary School for two larceny complaints. A report was completed and the matter is under investigation.

Officers were dispatched to a residence in the city for a civil dispute. Both parties were provided with a course of action and the matter is now closed.

Officers on patrol located a subject at his residence that had an outstanding Bench Warrant for violation of bond conditions. The subject was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident.

Officers on patrol located an open door at a business in the city. The building was searched and found to be secure. The property owner was notified.

Feb. 5: Officers responded to a noise complaint at an apartment complex in the city. Upon arrival no noise was heard. The matter was unfounded.
