Jan. 2 to 8

Jan. 2: An officer was dispatched to a business reference an alarm. The officer searched the building and the surrounding area. The business was found to be secure and the alarm was due to a system malfunction.

Jan. 3: The Evart Police Department was dispatched to four car/animal accidents, there were no injuries.

Jan. 6: An officer took a found property report (Driver’s license & Social Security card). The property will be kept at the Evart Police Department for 30 days or until claimed by the owner.

An officer was dispatched to assist the Evart Fire Department on a medical call.

Jan. 7: An officer took a found property report (Dentures). The property will be kept at the Evart Police Department for 30 days or until claimed by the owner.

Jan. 8: An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a possible missing person complaint. Upon arrival, the officer was advised the individual had returned home.

An officer was dispatched to as residence that had been broken into. The officer processed the scene. The case is open pending further investigation.

Jan. 2: Officers responded to a residence in the city for a reported larceny from a motor vehicle complaint. The complainant had items stolen from their vehicle during the night. A report was completed and the matter is under investigation.

Officers located a subject at his residence that had an outstanding warrant for filing a false police report of a misdemeanor. The subject was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident.

Jan. 3: Officers responded to a noise complaint at the Motel. The subject was located and given a verbal warning. The matter was resolved.

Jan. 4: Officers were called to a business in the city for an illegal dumping complaint. A report was completed and officers are reviewing camera footage to identify the suspect.

Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. It was discovered that the driver was operating without a valid license. The driver was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident.

Jan. 5: Officers did a peace officer stand by at an apartment complex so a subject could retrieve his items from the apartment. No problems were encountered.

Jan. 6: Officers investigated a harassment complaint at the High School. A report was completed and the matter is under investigation.

Officers were called to the hospital for a mental female that was trying to leave. There was a court order in place for hospitalization. Officers arrived on scene and located the female, who was returned to the hospital without incident.

Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. It was discovered that the subject was operating on a suspended license and had two outstanding warrants for his arrest. The driver was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident.

Jan. 7: Officers assisted the Michigan State Police on a traffic stop on US 10 near Roth St.

Jan. 8: Officers were called to a business in the city for an unattended child that was left inside of the vehicle. The parents of the child were located. The report has been submitted to Child Protective Services and the Prosecutor for review.
