Evart Police Report Jan. 16 to 22 Jan. 16: An officer was dispatched to a civil dispute. The officer stood by until the parties reached a mutual agreement. An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a verbal domestic. It was determined the situation was not physical and the parties were advised to resolve their differences in a civilized manner. Jan. 17: An officer investigated a suspicious situation. The officer made contact with four individuals who were file checked. An officer was dispatched to a harassment complaint. The officer advised the parties to avoid further contact with each other. An officer investigated a complaint of a dog at large. The dog was returned to their owner, who was advised of the City's ordinance. Jan. 18: An officer issued a citation to a minor who was found to be in possession of alcohol. The case has been turned over to the Osceola County Prosecuting Attorney for review. Jan. 20: An officer was dispatched to a traffic complaint. The officer responded and removed the hazard from the roadway. An officer investigated a complaint of bullying involving minors; the case is open pending further investigation. An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a civil dispute. The officer advised the complainant that the matter would have to be resolved in civil court. Jan. 21: An officer was dispatched to a car\/ deer accident, there were no injuries. An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a welfare check. The individual was found to be secure. The case is closed. An officer investigated a malicious destruction of property complaint. A stop sign on Rails to Trails had been knocked over. The information was turned over to the Department of Public Works. Jan. 22: An officer was dispatched to a disturbance complaint at a residence. The suspect left the area prior to the arrival of the officer. An officer was dispatched to assist the Michigan State Police on locating an individual who was non-compliant with the Michigan Sex Offender Registry. The suspect was located, arrested, transported to Osceola County Sheriff's Department and lodged on charges. Reed City Police Report Jan. 16 to Jan. 22 If you see any suspicious activity, call 911. The complaint was unfounded. Officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance between mother and son at an apartment complex in the city. The suspect had assaulted his mother and was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident. Jan. 17: Officers assisted the Osceola County Sheriff's Department and the Michigan State Police on a personal injury accident involving a semi on US 10 near 180th Ave. Officers also assisted with numerous road run-offs on U.S. 10. Officers handled a two vehicle property damage accident on N Chestnut St at Fifth Ave. There was minor damage and no injuries. Officers responded to a verbal domestic at an apartment complex in the city. No assault occurred and it was determined to be a verbal argument only. Both parties were warned and provided with a course of action. Jan. 18: Officers were dispatched to an animal control complaint at a residence in the city. A report was completed and submitted to the prosecutor for review. Officers on patrol located an open door at a business in the city. Officers searched the building and found everything to be OK. The property owner was notified. Officers responded to a residence in the city for a call of an intruder in the basement. Officers searched the residence and there was no sign anyone had entered or had been in the house. The complaint was unfounded. Officers were dispatched to a residence for a call of someone on the complainant's front porch yelling for help. Officers arrived on scene to find that the subject was intoxicated and had an outstanding Friend of the Court warrant for her arrest. The subject was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident. Jan. 19: Officers responded to an apartment complex for a violation of a personal protection order complaint. The complainant stated that she had been contacted numerous times by phone and at her residence by the suspect. A report was completed and submitted to Circuit Court for action. Officers were dispatched to a residence for a domestic disturbance between boyfriend and girlfriend. The male suspect had pushed the female. The male was arrested for domestic violence as well as a felony extradition warrant out of Sheridan Wyoming for escape. The suspect was lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident. Jan. 20: Officers were requested by a school bus driver for a violation of controlled substances complaint. A student on the bus was in possession of prescription pills that were not his. The matter is being investigated. Officers assisted the Osceola County Sheriff's Department on a warrant arrest at a business in town. The subject was taken into custody without incident. Officers were called to a bar in the city for a malicious destruction of property complaint. The suspect was upset and while leaving the bar, smashed out the front glass door. The suspect was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident. Jan. 21: Officers on patrol located an open door at a business in the city. Officers searched the building and found everything to be ok. The property owner was notified. Jan. 22: Officers were requested for a peace officer standby for a child custody exchange. The exchange occurred without any problems. Officers assisted the Michigan State Police and Osceola County Sheriff's Department on a personal injury accident on US 131 near 9 Mile Rd. Once the scene was secure the officer returned to patrol duties within the city.
