Dec. 27 to Jan. 1

Dec. 27: An officer was dispatched to assist the Evart Fire Department with traffic control during a structure fire.

An officer was dispatched to assist the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department on a complaint of domestic violence.

Dec. 28: An officer was dispatched to a suspicious situation.  A resident was receiving e-mail communications that appear to be a scam.

An officer was dispatched to a complaint of illegal dumping.  The officer spoke to the complainant, and the case is open pending contact with the suspect.

An officer took a found property report (Clip board full of papers).  The property was returned to the owner.

Dec. 30: An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a verbal domestic.  The parties were separated and the matter was forwarded to the Osceola County Prosecutor for review.

An officer was dispatched to a business reference a civil dispute. The officer stood by until the parties came to a mutual agreement.

An officer was dispatched to assist the Evart Fire Department with a complaint of illegal burning.

Dec. 31: An officer was dispatched to a complaint of domestic dispute.  The officer spoke to the parties involved and determined the dispute was verbal only. The officer stood by until one of the parties left the residence.

Jan. 1: An officer was dispatched to a domestic dispute involving a minor.  The case has been turned over to the Osceola County Prosecuting Attorney for review.

Dec. 26 to Jan. 1

Dec. 26: Officers responded to a noise complaint at an apartment complex in the city for a report of loud music.  Upon arrival the music was determined to be at an acceptable level and the complaint was unfounded.

Officers were dispatched to an alarm at a business in the city.  Officers checked the building and found it to be secure.  The alarm was unfounded and the property owner was notified.

Dec. 27:  Officers assisted EMS with gaining entry into a residence where an elderly female had fallen.

Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation.  It was discovered that the driver had two outstanding warrants out of Muskegon County for Fraud.

Officers responded to a hit and run property damage accident at a residence in the city.  The complainant stated that they observed that someone had hit the vehicle and created a dent.  A report was completed and the matter is under investigation.

Dec. 28:  Officers were dispatched to a 911 hang up at the Motel.  Officers arrived on scene and determined that a child was prank calling on the phone.  The child was talked to about the purpose of 911 and the parents of the child were also warned.

Officers went to the Grand Traverse County Jail to pickup a female that had an outstanding warrant for Failure to Appear for sentencing.  The subject was arrested and transported back to the Osceola County Jail without incident.

Officers on patrol received a report of a subject walking around with a handgun on his hip.  Officers observed that the subject had concealed the weapon.  Contact was made with the subject and the firearm was seized.  The report has been submitted to the Prosecutor’s Office seeking an arrest warrant.

Dec. 29:  Officers were dispatched to a landlord/tenant dispute.  Officers arrived on scene and talked to both parties who were advised that it was a civil matter.  The parties were provided with a course of action.

Officers responded to a residence for a fraud complaint.  The complainant was contacted over the phone by someone wanting money for Social Security.  The complainant gave the caller her bank account number.  A report was completed and the matter is under investigation.  The complainant’s account was closed to prevent an unauthorized transaction.

Officers were dispatched to an apartment complex for an assault complaint.  The complainant, who was highly intoxicated, claimed she was assaulted in the laundry room by her ex-husband.  The complaint was unfounded.

Dec. 30:  Officers assisted a business in the city by standing by while they terminated an employee.  The employee had made threats that he had a gun and was going to kill one of his co-workers.  The employee was terminated and escorted off the property, no gun was found.

Officers were dispatched to a landlord/tenant dispute.  Officers arrived on scene and talked to both parties who were advised that it was a civil matter.  The parties were provided with a course of action.

Officers responded to the Reed City Motel for a noise complaint.  The noise was not occurring at the time of the officer’s arrival.  The complainant was provided with a course of action.

Dec. 31:  Officers assisted the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department on a traffic stop where a subject was wanted on an arrest warrant.

Jan. 1: Officers responded to an apartment complex for a suicidal female who was holding a knife to her neck.  The female was located and determined to be highly intoxicated.  The female was transported to the Hospital for medical evaluation.

Officers responded to another suicidal subject call at another apartment complex.  The subject was having trouble with her ex and wanted to die.  The subject was transported to the hospital for medical evaluation.
