Evart Police Report — 08/27/2012 - 09/02/2012

  08/27 An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a disturbance complaint. The officer spoke to the complainant and advised the suspect of the City’s ordinance. An officer was dispatched to two residences reference larceny complaints. The cases remain open pending further investigation. An officer was dispatched to a business reference a fraud complaint. The case remains open pending further investigation.   08/28 Several blight violations were observed by the Evart Police Officers. The officers sent out notification letters to the property owners. The property owners have 10 days to correct the violations to avoid being cited. An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a Malicious Destruction of Property complaint. The case remains open pending further investigation.  
08/30 While on patrol an officer identified two individuals as having outstanding warrants. The suspects were arrested, transported to Osceola County Sheriff’s Department and lodged on charges.   08/31 An officer was dispatched to a one car property damage accident, there were no injuries. An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a dog at large complaint. Upon arrival the officer was unable to locate the dog. An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a suspicious persons complaint. The officer spoke to the complainant but was unable to locate the suspects.  
09/01 An officer conducted a traffic stop for failure to wear a seatbelt, the driver was found to be operating the vehicle without a valid license. The driver was issued a misdemeanor appearance citation.  
09/02 An officer was dispatched to assist the Michigan State Police on a domestic violence complaint outside the city. An officer took a found property report (cheerleading coat and wallet). The property was returned to the owner. An officer was dispatched to a one car property damage accident, there were no injuries.  

Reed City Police Report — 08/27/2012 - 09/02/2012

Email tips to RCPD@reedcityhall.org   08/27 Officers responded to the construction site near S State St for a report of juveniles in the area of the construction equipment. Officers checked the area and are doing extra patrols. Officers were dispatched to an apartment complex for a possible domestic disturbance in the parking lot. Officers arrived on scene and determined that it was a verbal argument only. The parties were provided with a course of action and given a warning. Officers responded to an apartment complex for a check well being on a possible suicidal juvenile. Officers arrived on scene and checked the child who was in care of his mother. No further action was needed. Officers located a suspicious person walking on US 10. The subject fled when he observed the patrol car. The subject was stopped and identified.   08/28 Officers on patrol located a subject that had an outstanding warrant for probation violation out of Mecosta County. The subject was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident. Officers were called to the Probation Office to arrest a subject on a probation violation at the request of the subject’s probation agent. The subject was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident. Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. It was discovered that the driver was operating on a suspended license. The subject was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident. Officers on patrol located a subject walking on S Chestnut St that had an outstanding warrant for Failure to Appear. The subject was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident. Officers assisted the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department with a property damage accident at 3 Mile Rd and 200th Ave. Officers assisted the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department on Elm St for a felon at large.   08/29 Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. It was discovered that the driver was operating on a suspended license and also had a warrant for failure to appear out of another jurisdiction. The driver was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident. Officers assisted Lake City Redi Mix with traffic control while they poured new sidewalks. Officers investigated an abandoned vehicle at a repair shop in town.   08/30 Officers located a subject at her residence that had an outstanding warrant for assault. The subject was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident. Officers investigated a harassment complaint at the High School football game. A report was completed and the matter is under investigation.   08/31 Officers were called to a business for a fraud complaint. A subject had written a check to the business and the check was returned “closed account”. The suspect has been identified and the matter is under investigation. Officers investigated a prowling complaint at a business after hours. The suspect has been identified and the matter is under investigation. Officers were called to a residence for a family matter. The subjects were provided with a course of action. Officers on patrol located an open window at a business. The building was checked and found to be secure. The property owner was notified.   09/01 Officers on patrol located four juveniles on the property of a business. One of the subjects was smoking cigarettes and was cited and returned home to his parents. Officers were called to S Chestnut St for a subject who appeared drunk and was stumbling all over the place. Officers checked the area and the subject was not located. Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. It was determined that the driver was operating the vehicle while intoxicated. The subject was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident. Officers assisted the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department with securing a stolen vehicle that was located at a residence in Reed City. Officers assisted the Osceola County Jail with taking an inmate to the hospital until deputies could be called in to cover.   09/02 Officers picked up a prisoner in Genessee County for an outstanding warrant for Contempt of Court. The subject was lodged in the
