Aug. 15 to 21

Aug. 15: An officer was dispatched to a business reference a Fail to pay for gasoline complaint. The case is open pending further investigation.

An officer was dispatched to a disturbance complaint. The officer spoke to the parties involved and advised them to avoid contact with each other. The case is closed.

An officer was dispatched to a business reference an alarm. Upon arrival the officer searched the building and the surrounding area.

An officer took a found property report (Silver Pacific Prowler Bicycle). The property will be kept at the Evart Police Department for 30 days or until claimed by the owners.

An officer was dispatched to a complaint of a suspicious person. Upon arrival the officer searched the area and was unable to locate the subject.

Aug. 16: An officer took two found property reports (Lion statue). The property will be kept at the Evart Police Department for 30 days or until claimed by the owners.

An officer took a harassment complaint. The officer spoke to the complainant and advised them to obtain a Personal Protection Order (PPO).

An officer was dispatched to a larceny from an automobile. The officer spoke to the vehicle owner, dusted for finger prints and took photos. The case is open pending further investigation.

An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a noise complaint. There was a complaint of a gunshot. The officer checked the immediate area and the surrounding blocks to no avail.

An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a complaint of a suspicious situation. A resident received a phone call from an individual requesting their debit card information to claim a prize. The complainant was provided information pertaining to ID theft.

An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a noise complaint. Upon arrival the officer spoke to the complainant and advised the individual of the City’s noise ordinance.

An officer was dispatched to a Malicious Destruction of Property complaint at a residence. The officer took pictures of the damaged bike. The case is open pending further investigation.

Aug. 17: An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a complaint of burning and heavy smoke. Upon arrival the officer advised the resident of the City’s burning ordinance.

An officer was dispatched to a civil dispute. The officer advised that complainant that the matter was Civil and must be resolved in Civil court.

Aug. 18: An officer was dispatched to a business reference a disorderly person complaint. The officer spoke to the complainant and the suspect was arrested, transported to OCSD and lodged on charges.

An officer took a complaint of a Non-Sufficient Funds check. The case was turned over to the Osceola County Prosecuting Attorney for review.

An officer was dispatched to a business reference an alarm. The officer searched the business and the surrounding area. The alarm was due to user error.

Aug. 20: An officer was dispatched to a complaint of Illegal entry. The officer spoke to the complainant and has not been able to contact the suspect. The case is open pending further investigation.

An officer was dispatched to a complaint of a dog at large. The officer made contact with the dog owner who was issued a citation.

Aug. 21: An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a disorderly person complaint. The officer spoke to the complainant and advised the suspect to go home.

While on patrol an officer identified an individual as having an outstanding warrant. The suspect was arrested, transported to OCSD and lodged on charges.

Blight violations were observed by the Evart Police Officers. The officers sent out notification letters to the property owners. The property owners / tenants have 10 days to correct the violations to avoid being cited.

An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a disturbance complaint. The officer made contact with the suspects and advised them of the complaint. No further action was needed.

Aug. 17: Officers were called to a residence in the city for a complaint of a subject passed out sleeping in the complainant’s vehicle. The suspect was identified and determined to be highly intoxicated. The suspect became unruly and was arrested for trespassing and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident.

Officers were dispatched to a barking dog complaint in the area of N Higbee St and W Stimson Ave. Upon arrival of the officers there were no dogs barking. The matter was unfounded.

Officers were approached by a resident that had locked herself out of her house. Assistance was given by contacting a locksmith for the subject.

Aug. 18: Officers were called for an open door at a vacant business in the city. The building was checked and found to be secure.

Officers were dispatched to a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival it was discovered that it was a verbal argument only between two females. The parties were advised on a course of action and given a warning.

Aug. 19: Officers responded to a residence in the city for a grass/trash abatement violation. The owners were talked to and advised what actions needed to be taken to correct the violations.

Officers were dispatched to a two vehicle property damage accident that occurred at the intersection of S Chestnut St at Church St. The driver of one of the vehicles rear ended the vehicle in front of them that was stopped for the red light. The at fault driver was cited at the scene. There was minor damage and no injuries.

Officers responded to a call of an open garage door at a business after hours. The buildings were checked and secured.

Officers responded to the Ionia County Jail to pick up a female subject that was wanted on a Reed City warrant for contempt of court. The subject was arrested and transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident.

Officers on patrol located an open door at a business in the city. The building was searched and found to be secure. The property owner was notified.

Aug. 20: Officers located a subject at his residence that was wanted on a three count warrant for felony fleeing police, drag racing and refusing to obey a traffic order from a police officer stemming from an incident the previous week. The subject was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident.

Officers were called for a child runaway complaint. It was discovered that the child was 17 years old and was legally able to leave the residence.

Aug. 21: Officers on patrol located a residence that was in violation of the cities grass ordinance. There was no one home at the time. Officers will attempt follow-up contact with the property owners to have the violation corrected.

Officers were called for a possible suicidal subject at Westerburg Park. The subject was located and agreed to seek voluntary treatment. The subject was turned over to family members without incident.

Officers received a report of a possible criminal sexual conduct. An initial report was completed and the matter is under investigation.
