Evart Police Report April 9 to 15 April 9 An officer was dispatched to assist the Department of Human Services on three investigations. April 10 While on patrol an officer identified an individual as having an outstanding warrant. The suspect was arrested, transported to Osceola County Sheriff\u2019s Department and lodged on charges. An officer investigated a complaint of Criminal Sexual Conduct.\u00a0 The officer spoke to the complainant, and the case was turned over to the Osceola County Prosecuting Attorney for review. April 13 An officer was dispatched to assist the Michigan State Police on a search. An officer was dispatched to assist the Osceola County Sheriff\u2019s Department on an area check. April 14 An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a suspicious person who was sitting outside the residence in a vehicle.\u00a0 The suspect left the area before the officer arrived. An officer was dispatched to a harassment complaint. The officer advised both parties to avoid further contact with each other. Reed City Police Report April 9 to 15 April 9 Officers on patrol stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation.\u00a0 It was discovered that the driver was operating on a suspended license and also had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear.\u00a0 The subject was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident. Officers assisted the Michigan State Police on Patterson Rd where a subject had fled on foot from Troopers. Officers arrested a subject on a warrant for felony larceny from a building where a lockbox was stolen from a residence that contained prescription medications.\u00a0 The subject was already lodged in the Osceola County Jail on unrelated matters. Officers responded to the 400 block of W Upton Ave for a barking dog complaint.\u00a0 Officers arrived on scene and were unable to locate any barking dogs. Officers handled a found property complaint where a set of keys were found.\u00a0 The keys are being held at the department pending pickup by the owner. Officers were dispatched to an animal abuse complaint.\u00a0 An initial report was completed and the matter is open, pending contact with the suspect and dog owner. April 10 Officers assisted EMS on a medical call at the Elementary School where an 8 year old had fallen from playground equipment. Officers were called to a residence for a suicidal subject that was telling his child\u2019s mother that he was going to kill himself.\u00a0 The subject was transported to Community Mental Health to be evaluated. Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation.\u00a0 It was discovered that the driver was operating the vehicle on an improper plate.\u00a0 The driver was given an appearance citation at the scene and released. Officers were dispatched to a Criminal Sexual Conduct complaint.\u00a0 Officers arrested Terry Dean Bigford for Criminal Sexual Conduct stemming from an incident at the Reed City Motel involving a 14 year old female victim.\u00a0 Bigford, who is already a registered sex offender, remains lodged in the Osceola County Jail without bond.\u00a0 Officers were assisted at the scene by Deputies from the Mecosta and Osceola County Sheriff\u2019s Departments. April 11 Officers stopped a motorcycle for operating on an expired license plate.\u00a0 It was discovered that the driver also did not have a cycle endorsement or insurance on the motorcycle.\u00a0 The driver was given an appearance citation at the scene and released. Officers did a peace officer standby at a residence so the complainant could retrieve her property from a residence.\u00a0 There were no problems. Officers were called to a business in town for a retail fraud complaint.\u00a0 The suspect, who was identified by surveillance footage, stole a can of beer from the cooler.\u00a0 The suspect was located at his residence and lodged at the Osceola County Jail. Officers were dispatched to an apartment complex in the city for a disorderly and reckless driving complaint.\u00a0 The suspect had driven into the complex yelling obscenities and then drove reckless out of the parking lot.\u00a0 The suspect was located and interviewed.\u00a0 The matter has been submitted to the City Attorney\u2019s Office seeking an arrest warrant. Officers responded to a business in the city for a private property damage accident.\u00a0 There were no injuries and only minor damage.\u00a0 A report was completed. Officers were dispatched to a residence for a larceny of video games complaint.\u00a0 The suspect was identified and the games were recovered from a store in Big Rapids.\u00a0 A report has been completed and submitted to the Prosecutor\u2019s Office seeking an arrest warrant. Officers picked up a subject at the Mecosta County Jail on a warrant for contempt of court.\u00a0 The subject was transported to and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident. April 12 Officers located a subject at his residence that had an outstanding warrant for Retail Fraud out of the Osceola County Sheriff\u2019s Department.\u00a0 The subject was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident. Offices were called to a trailer park in the city for a subject doing door to door sales without the proper permit.\u00a0 Officers arrived on scene and were not able to locate the subject. Officers were dispatched to the Court House Annex building to arrest a subject on a probation violation.\u00a0 The subject was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident. April 13 Officers were called to a residence for an assault complaint.\u00a0 The complainant was assaulted by a friend of hers.\u00a0 The complainant decided that she did not wish to pursue charges and the matter is now closed. April 14 Officers were dispatched to the 100 block of W Upton Ave for a noise complaint coming from a vehicle.\u00a0 The subject was located and given a warning. April 15 Officers assisted in attempting to locate a runaway child from a residence in the county.
