Evart Police Report April 4 to April 10 April 4: An officer was dispatched to a residence for a civil dispute. The officer stood by until an agreement was reached by both parties, requiring no further action. An officer investigated a suspicious situation at the Middle School. The officer searched the building and the surrounding area. The officer was unable to locate the suspect. An officer was dispatched to assist EMS on a medical call. An officer investigated a Malicious Destruction of Property (MDOP) complaint. The officer spoke to the suspect and a citation was issued. April 5: An officer was dispatched to a residence for a dog bite complaint. The officer spoke to the parties involved and a citation was issued to the owner of the dog. An officer was dispatched to a local business for a violation of a controlled substance complaint. A search warrant was executed and two subjects were lodged at the Osceola County Sheriff\u2019s Department on charges of possession of marijuana. April 6: An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a barking dog. The officer made contact with the dog owner and advised them of the City\u2019s ordinance. An officer took a Malicious Destruction of Property complaint at the Middle School. Photos were taken of the spray paint. The case is open pending further investigation. The officer spoke to the complainant and was unable to locate the suspect. The case is open pending further investigation. April 7: An officer found a subject to be in possession of a controlled substance. The suspect was arrested and transported to Osceola County Sheriff\u2019s Department where they were lodged on charges. An officer took a Malicious Destruction of Property complaint at a residence. Photos were taken of the damaged mailbox. The case is open pending further investigation. April 8: An officer investigated a suspicious situation at the Middle School. During a search of the building and the surrounding area the officer located four street signs that had been removed from their posts. The officer located two subjects near the school who were questioned about the signs. The case is closed. April 9: An officer was dispatched to assist the Osceola County Sheriff\u2019s Department on a home invasion call. An officer was dispatched to the Middle School reference a Trespassing complaint involving a minor. An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a dog at large complaint. Upon arrival the officer spoke to the complainant and a verbal warning was issued to the owner of the dog. An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a check well being call. Upon arrival the officer spoke to the subject. The subject was found to be secure and the officer cleared the residence. April 10: An officer was dispatched to a two car private property damage accident. There were no injuries. Reed City Police Report April 4 to April 10 If you see any suspicious activity, call 911. The complainant stated that a male was standing nude in front of his sliding glass door, exposing himself to the parking lot. Witness statements were obtained and a report was completed and submitted to the prosecutor for an arrest warrant. Officers assisted a motorist that was having vehicle problems on U.S.-10. Officers responded to a business in the city for a retail fraud complaint. The suspect came into the store and stole a can of beer from the coolers. The suspect had also been previously trespassed from the business. The report was submitted to the prosecutor seeking an arrest warrant for the suspect. April 6: Officers investigated a complaint of a person showing obscene material to minor children. All parties involved were interviewed and the report has been submitted to the prosecutor for review. Officers located a subject with an outstanding warrant for indecent exposure. The subject was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident. Officers served a vehicle abatement notice on an unregistered vehicle. Further enforcement action will be taken if the violation is not corrected. Officers assisted EMS and the Reed City Fire Department on a medical run at an apartment complex in the city. April 7: Officers impounded an abandoned vehicle that had been parked the parking lot of a business for days. Officers served a vehicle abatement notice on an unregistered vehicle. Further enforcement action will be taken if the violation is not corrected. Officers located a dog running at large. The owner of the dog was located and cited for allowing the dog to roam at large. April 8: Officers were dispatched to a call of an armed robbery behind a business in the city. Numerous officers canvassed the area and were not able to locate the suspect matching the description given by the victim. Statements were obtained from witnesses and the victim. The matter is under investigation, more details regarding the incident will be released when available. Officers were assisted by the Michigan State Police \u2013 Reed City Post, the Osceola County Sheriff\u2019s Department and the Lake County Sheriff\u2019s Department. Officers responded to a residence in the city for a fraud complaint. The complainant purchased a vehicle on eBay and sent payment to a third party only to discover that he had been a victim of a scam. A report was completed and the matter is under investigation. Officers were dispatched to a landlord\/tenant dispute at a residence in the city. Both parties were talked to and advised on a course of action. April 9: Officers responded to a call of a domestic at an apartment complex in the city. Officers arrived on scene to find that it was a verbal argument only. All parties were talked to and advised on a course of action. Officers stopped a vehicle for having knowledge that the driver had a suspended operator\u2019s license. The driver was arrested for operating on a suspended license and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident. April 10: Officers responded to a residence in the city for a suspicious 2 liter bottle that contained an unknown substance inside of it. The complainant\u2019s child opened the bottle and the contents made him feel sick. The complaint was advised to seek immediate medical attention for the child. A report was completed and the matter is under investigation. Michigan State Police Report April 4 to April 11 Additional information regarding a few significant issues: A trooper was dispatched to a Big Rapids business on April 10 after a man was seen leaving the store without paying for items. Loss prevention was not able to detain the man, but provided a description of the stolen property and the suspect. The trooper, assisted by the Mecosta County Sheriff\u2019s Department, located the man walking nearby. The man refused to stop for officers, but was eventually detained and found to be in possession of the stolen property. He was arrested and lodged in the Mecosta County Jail. Troopers were dispatched to a Marion residence on 04\/02\/11 regarding a loud party. Upon arriving, troopers found two subjects with outstanding warrants and placed them under arrest. A third person was found to be violating probation, and was also arrested. All three subjects were lodged in the Osceola County Jail. April is the month of the child. Remember that children under 8 years old and under 4 feet, 9 inches are required to ride in an approved booster seat. Children under 4 must be in an approved child restrain system in the rear seat if available. Children up to 16 years old must wear a safety belt at all times.
