April 16

  • An officer was dispatched to a civil dispute.  The officer made contact with the parties involved and advised them to resolve the dispute in court.
  • An officer was dispatched to a custody dispute.  The officer made contact with the complainant and advised them to resolve the dispute in court.
  • An officer was dispatched to a property dispute.  The parties involved came to a mutual agreement requiring no additional action.

April 17

  • An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a complaint of Domestic Violence.  The officer spoke to the complainant, and the suspect was arrested, transported to Osceola County Sheriff’s Department and lodged on charges.
  • While on patrol an officer observed a residence with an open door. The officer secured the door, and made contact with the owner.
  • An officer was dispatched to a harassment complaint. The officer advised both parties to avoid further contact with each other.
  • An officer was dispatched to an area check near the river.  A subject was transported to Spectrum Health for medical attention.

April 18

  • An officer was dispatched to two separate civil disputes.  The officer made contact with all the parties involved and advised them to resolve their disputes in court.

April 19

  • An officer was dispatched to assist the Michigan State Police on a search.
  • An officer was dispatched to a harassment complaint. The officer advised both parties to avoid further contact with each other.

April 21

  • An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a complaint of Domestic Violence.  The officer spoke to the complainant, and the suspect was arrested, transported to Osceola County Sheriff’s Department and lodged on charges.
  • While on patrol an officer identified an individual as having an outstanding warrant. The suspect was arrested, transported to Osceola County Sheriff’s Department and lodged on charges.
  • An officer was dispatched to the skate park reference a suspicious person.  The suspect left the area before the officer arrived.
  • An officer took a found property report (green shorts & black flip flops).  The property will be kept at the Evart Police Department for 30 days or until claimed by the owner.

April 16

  • Officers responded to an apartment complex for a larceny complaint.  The complainant advised that she had money stolen from her purse that was in her bedroom.  The complainant was confused and the complaint was unfounded.
  • Officers were dispatched to an apartment complex for a trespassing complaint.  The apartment manager observed a subject on the property that had been previously trespassed.  A report was completed and submitted to the City Attorney’s Office seeking an arrest warrant.
  • Officers were called to a residence for a reported domestic disturbance.  Upon arrival it was discovered that it was a verbal argument.  All parties were provided with a course of action and given a verbal warning.
  • Officers located and arrested a subject on a warrant for larceny of cable TV.  The subject was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident.
  • Officers were called to a residence for a peace officer assist so a subject could retrieve items from the property.  There were no incidents.

April 17

  • Officers were dispatched to an apartment complex parking lot for a complaint of subject inside of a vehicle smoking marijuana.  Officers talked with the subjects and no marijuana was detected.  The complaint was unfounded.
  • Officers responded to an apartment complex for a noise complaint in the parking lot.  The complainant reported that there was a vehicle in the lot that was playing loud music.  Officers arrived on scene and the subject was located and given a warning.

April 18

  • Officers located a found bike.  The bike was taken into safe keeping until claimed by the owner.
  • Officers were called to the hospital to assist with a combative suicidal subject.  During the encounter the subject assaulted the officer.  The subject was cleared by mental health and arrested for assaulting a police officer and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without further incident.

April 19

  • Officers handled a private property damage accident the occurred in a business parking lot.  There were no injuries and only minor damage.  A report was completed.
  • Officers assisted the Michigan State Police with a criminal sexual conduct investigation.
  • Officers on patrol located a subject at his residence that had an outstanding warrant for trespassing.  The subject was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident.
  • Officers investigated a possible sex offender residency violation.  The matter is under investigation.
  • Officers on patrol located an open door at a business in the city.  The building was searched and secured.  The property owner was notified.

April 20

  • Officers attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation.  The driver of the vehicle began fleeing from police at high speeds and through residential areas.  The driver eventually parked the vehicle in the City Parking Lot North of Pattie Drugs.  The driver was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail on the charges of Felony Flee and Elude Police, operating a motor vehicle with no insurance and not having a license plate on the vehicle.
  • Officers on patrol located an open door at a business in the city.  The building was searched and secured.  The property owner was notified.
  • Officers were called to the parking lot of an apartment complex for a disturbance.  Officers arrived on scene to find numerous subjects in the parking lot, gathered around a vehicle.  An intoxicated minor was located in the back seat of the vehicle and was given an appearance citation of minor in possession of alcohol.  Another subject had an outstanding warrant for Friend of the Court out of Osceola County and was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail.  Warrant requests have been submitted to the City Attorney seeking arrest warrants on the other individuals for disorderly conduct.

April 22

  • Officers were called to S. Mill St. to check a suspicious vehicle.  The vehicle was gone upon arrival of the officers.
