Evart Police Report — March 12 to 18

March 12: An officer was dispatched to assist the Department of Human Services on a home visit.

An officer was dispatched to a business reference a disturbance. The officer spoke to the complainant. The report was forwarded to the Osceola County Prosecuting attorney for review.

March 13: An officer was dispatched to a 911 hang up. The individual was found to be secure. The case is closed.

An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a welfare check. The individual was found to be secure. The case is closed.

An officer was dispatched to an area check involving minors. The officer was unable to locate the suspects.

March 14: While on patrol an officer observed a vehicle with an open door. The officer was unable to make contact with the owner. The officer closed the vehicle door, and the case is open pending contact with the owner.

An officer was dispatched to a business reference an alarm. The officer searched the business and the surrounding area. The business was found to be secure and the alarm was due to a system malfunction.

An officer was dispatched to a civil dispute. The officer made contact with the parties involved and advised them to resolve their differences in a civilized manner.

An officer was dispatched to a business reference a Larceny of a motor vehicle complaint. The case is open pending further investigation.

An officer was dispatched to assist the Michigan State Police on a vehicle search.

March 17: While on patrol an officer observed minors in the street after curfew. The minors were transported back to their residences.

While on a traffic stop an officer identified the driver as operating the vehicle on a suspended driver’s license. The suspect was arrested, transported to Osceola County Sheriff’s Department and lodged on charges.

An officer was dispatched to two dog at large complaints. The officer made contact with the owners and advised them of the City’s ordinance.

An officer was dispatched to assist the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department on a complaint of a disorderly person.

An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a barking dog complaint. The officer made contact with the owner and advised them of the City’s ordinance.

Reed City Police Report — March 12 to 18

March 12: Officers assisted the school with a knife that was located in a student’s vehicle. A report has been completed and the matter is under investigation.

Officers stopped a suspicious vehicle parked outside of a bank in town. Officers had received information that the subject in the vehicle had a gun. Officers made contact with the driver who had a valid concealed weapons permit.

Officers on patrol located an open door to a business. The building was searched and found to be secure. The property owner was notified.

March 13: Officers located a subject at her residence that had an outstanding warrant for filing a false police report of a felony. The subject was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident.

Officers investigated a threats complaint. The suspect had made threats against a Doctor that he was going to do harm. A report was completed and submitted to the Prosecutors Office seeking an arrest warrant.

Officers served a trash abatement at a residence in the city that had trash out to the road in black bags. The property owner has the allotted time to correct the violation or further enforcement action will be taken.

Officers served an inoperable vehicle abatement at a residence that had two vehicles parked on the property. The property owner has the allotted time to correct the violation or further enforcement action will be taken.

March 14: Officers investigated a disorderly conduct complaint at a gas station in town. A vehicle had pulled into the parking lot; the driver got out with a baseball bat and smashed out the rear windshield of a vehicle parked at the gas pump. The incident was captured by the stores security system. The matter is under investigation.

Officers investigated a suspicious vehicle parked outside of a child care center. The vehicle was gone upon arrival of officers. A description was obtained and officers patrolled the area looking for the vehicle.

Officers were called to a residence for an unwanted person inside the home. Officers arrived on scene and learned that the suspect was intoxicated and on bond for other charges. The suspect was arrested for being in violation of a bond conditional release and was lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident.

Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. It was discovered that the driver was operating on a suspended license and was arrest. Upon searching the vehicle a marijuana cigarette was located. The subject was lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident.

Officers met with a subject at the department that wanted to file an assault charge. The victim advised that she was assaulted by her mother’s boyfriend. A report was completed and submitted to the Prosecutors Office for an arrest warrant. Child Protective Services was contacted and the children were placed in the custody of the children’s father.

Officers recovered stolen property from a larceny from a vehicle complaint. The property was turned over to the owner.

Officers were called to a residence for a breaking and entering complaint. A bottle of prescription medication was taken from the residence. A report was completed and the matter is under investigation.

March 15: Officers handled a found property complaint. A wallet was found and it was turned over to the owner.

Officers investigated a larceny of chainsaws from the bed of a pickup truck at a residence in the city. The chainsaws were located in the yard of another residence. The chainsaws were recovered and returned to the owner.

Officers responded to the intersection of W. Upton Ave. at Chestnut St. for a two vehicle property damage accident. There were no injuries and only minor damage. A report was completed.

March 16: Officers on patrol were called to the Waste Water Treatment Plant for an open gate complaint. The property was checked and the gates were secured.

Officers assisted a stranded motorist that had run out of gas.

Officers assisted the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department on a traffic stop on US 10 near Dailey Dr. Once the scene was secure the officers resumed patrol duties.

Officers responded to an apartment complex for a noise complaint outside of one of the apartment buildings. Upon arrival no noise was heard and the subjects were gone.

Officers on patrol located damage to a handicap parking sign at an apartment complex. A report was completed.

March 17: Officers responded to a dog at large complaint at a residence in the city. The dog was located and taken to the Animal Control Shelter pending pickup by the owner.

Officers stopped a vehicle for speeding. Upon making contact with the driver it was discovered that he was intoxicated. The driver was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident for operating while intoxicated.

March 18: Officers received a report of minors drinking at a residence in the city. The address was checked and no minors were found to be drinking, the complaint was unfounded.
