Evart Police Report 12/11-12/14 12/11 ● An officer was contacted reference a larceny complaint. Several extension cords were reported stolen from a local City Park. The case is closed. ● An officer was dispatched to a residence for a vicious dog at large complaint. The dog was located and turned over to Osceola County Animal Control and the owner of the dog was issued a citation. 12/13 ● An officer assisted officials at the Evart High School with an unruly student. The student was escorted off of school property without incident. ● An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a complaint of fraud. The officer made contact with the complainant who indicated there were a number of unauthorized charges on her bank account. The case is still open pending further investigation. ● Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation and subsequently the driver was found to have a warrant out of Osceola County. The driver was arrested and transported to the Osceola County Jail. ● An officer was dispatched to a residence reference an assault complaint. The officer made contact with the complainant. The case is still open pending contact with the suspect. 12/14 ● Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation and it was determined the driver did not possess a valid driver’s license. A citation was issued and a report was submitted to the Osceola County Prosecutor. Reed City Police Report 12/10-12/15 12/10 ● Officers handled a walk in complaint at the department. The complainant reported that someone had taken a marker to his vehicle and drew in the paint. A report was completed and the matter is under investigation. ● Officers were called for a well being check on a possibly suicidal subject. Officers responded to the address and found that the subject did not live there. Officers checked other areas in the city and were unable to locate the individual. It is believed that the subject was in the Evart area. ● Officers responded to a residence for a larceny complaint. The complainant reported that someone had stolen his new windshield wiper blade off of this vehicle and replaced it with another one that did not fit. A report was completed and the matter is under investigation. ● Officers were called to a residence for a drug overdose. Upon arrival the subject was located in the bathroom and did not ingest any pills. The subject was transported to the hospital to be evaluated. 12/11 ● Officers investigated a minor in possession of tobacco products at the school. ● Officers were dispatched to the Courthouse for a possible PPO violation. A report was completed and the matter is under investigation. ● Officers responded to the City Garage for a report of a suspicious vehicle entering the garage. Officers arrived on scene and determined that it was a repair company returning a city vehicle after the repairs was completed. ● Officers were called to the school for a student that was not picked up by his parents and the school could not get a hold of anyone. Officers transported the student home and he was left in the care of his family members. It was determined that it was a miscommunication with his parents. ● Officers responded to a residence for a harassing phone calls complaint. The complainant did not want to press charges and just wanted a report on file. A report was completed. 12/12 ● Officers were called for a check well being at an apartment complex in the city. The complainant reported that the subject had not been seen in approx. 5 days. Maintenance personal at the apartment complex could not get the subjects door open. Officers arrived on scene and forced entry into the apartment. It was discovered that the subject was deceased is his apartment. The death appears to be natural. A report was completed. 12/13 ● Officers responded to a parking complaint where a semi truck was parked on private property. The semi had departed prior to the officer arriving on scene. 12/14 ● Officers on patrol stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. It was determined that the driver had an outstanding warrant out of the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office for contempt of court. The subject was arrested and then turned over to Mecosta County Deputies without incident. ● Officers investigated a private property traffic crash resulting in minor injuries. One of the drivers was treated at Spectrum Health for her injuries. A report was completed. ● Officers responded to a car/deer traffic crash on US-10. There was minor damage and no injuries to the occupants. A report was completed. ● Officers on patrol located an open door at a business in the city. The building was searched and found to be secure. The property owner was notified. 12/15 ● Officers received a traffic complaint where a vehicle was driving recklessly on Northland Dr, coming into the city limits. Officers located the vehicle parked at a residence, no violations were observed. ● Officers were called to an apartment complex for a possible domestic disturbance. Upon arrival no noise was heard and no one would answer the door at the residence. The complaint was unfounded. ● Officers located a subject behind a closed building stumbling, trying to climb the building. The subject was very intoxicated. It was discovered that the subject was on probation and in violation of his probations conditions by being intoxicated. The subject was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident. Osceola Sheriff’s Department The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office investigated several complaints for the above week. The following is a brief summery for some of that activity which occurred. 12-09 12-10 ● A deputy performed a traffic stop on a Lincoln Township vehicle, for failing to signal. Through investigation it was discovered that said operator was driving while intoxicated (3rd offence) and driving while license suspended (second offence. The driver was then arrested and transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident. ● Deputies investigated three vehicle crashes, which occurred within Osceola, Sherman and Rose Lake Township. 12-11 ● Deputies were dispatched to a Burdell Township home, on the report of a possible domestic complaint, where a subject was being restrained from leaving their home. Upon arrival the deputies secured the scene, determined that an assault did occur, took said aggressor into custody and transported them to the Osceola County Jail without incident. ● Deputies were dispatched to a Rose Lake Township home on the report of a domestic assault, which was in progress. Upon arrival the deputies secured the scene and determined that an assault did occur between two adult siblings. At that time the aggressor was arrested and was transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident. 12-12 ● Deputies responded to a Richmond Township building, and arrested a subject on a valid warrant, which was issued out of the Osceola County Courts. The suspect was then transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident. ● A deputy investigated a larceny complaint, which occurred at a Richmond Township home. Through investigation it was discovered that said victim had loaned several items to the suspect, and now the suspect was refusing to return them. The deputy completed his investigation and forwarded said report to the prosecutor’s office for charges. 12-13 ● Deputies responded to two Richmond Township buildings and arrested two separate subjects on valid warrants, which were issued out of Osceola County. Both subjects were then transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident. ● Deputies responded to a Sylvan Township juvenile detention home on the report of an assault complaint. Upon arrival and it was discovered that two residents had assaulted each other. The deputies completed their investigation and cleared the scene without incident. This report has been forwarded to the prosecutor’s office for charges. 12-14 ● Deputies responded to a Lincoln township home on the report of a 911 hang-up call. Upon arrival the deputies secured the scene, and discovered that the complainant’s child accidentally dialed 911. The deputies then cleared the scene, once their assistance was no longer needed. ● Deputies investigated four vehicle crashes, which occurred within Evart, Osceola, Hersey and Highland Townships. 12-15 ● A deputy investigated a larceny of a snowmobile, which occurred at a Middle Branch Township home. Upon arrival the deputy completed his investigation, and discovered that said stolen Skidoo snowmobile was driven to the village of Marion. This case is open pending review of security footage. ● Deputies were dispatched to a Reed City business on the report of a disorderly subject. Upon arrival the deputies discovered that said subject was upset as the store had sold his friend an item, and was now refunding their money, as the item was mistakenly sold. After a short discussion the subject left the store without incident, and the deputies cleared once their assistance was no longer needed. ● Deputies investigated four vehicle crashes, which occurred within Richmond, Sherman, Lincoln and Highland Townships.
