Officers received a complaint from 24-year-old female regarding threats through text messages from her ex-boyfriend. Officers reviewed the messages and the matter was unfounded. Case closed.

While on patrol, officers observed a vehicle in violation of City Ordinance No. 1284.13 which is the storage of inoperable or unregistered vehicle are prohibited unless confined within an enclosed structure. An abatement notice was completed and served.

Officers were dispatched to the exterior of the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department for a disorderly person. The responding officers found the 28-year-old male in the alley between the OCSD and the court house, lighting cardboard boxes on fire. The subject resisted arrest and continued to resist after being handcuffed. He was arrested and lodged at the scene for attempted arson, non-aggravated assault and resisting a police officer.

Officers were dispatched to local residence regarding a harassment complaint. It was determined that no law had been broken and the individual was advised on how to proceed.

The School Liaison Officer was dispatched to local residence to assist with a non-compliant juvenile who was refusing to go to school. The officer transported the juvenile to school to attend for the rest of the day.

Officers were called to local apartment complex regarding a property damage complaint. The resident claimed someone is deliberately damaging his vehicles and wanted to have a report made.

Officers were dispatched to local residence regarding the constant text messages. Officers advised the complainant to keep a log of contacts. The matter is under investigation.

Officers were dispatched to a possible criminal sexual conduct involving a juvenile. The matter is under investigation.

Officers received a complaint regarding a fight between two juveniles. The matter is under investigation.

Officers were dispatched to local business regarding the theft from a coin operated machine. The matter is under investigation.

Officers were dispatched to local address after central dispatch received a call regarding a possible suicidal male. It was determined to be a misunderstood text message.

Officers were dispatched to a local apartment complex regarding an alarm activation. Officers checked the scene, finding all to be secure.

While performing a traffic stop, Officers found the 34-year-old female to be driving while her license was suspended. She was placed under arrest and her vehicle impounded. She was then transported and lodged in the Osceola County Jail without incident.

While on patrol, officers observed a young male in violation of curfew. The male was transported to his residence and turned over to parents with a verbal warning issued.

Officers were called regarding a hit-and-run complaint. The caller state that someone had hit her vehicle in the parking lot behind a local business the night before and requested a report for insurance purpose. Officers are awaiting video footage of the incident and the matter is under investigation.

Officers performed a motorist assist with a subjects vehicle who had broken down.

Officers were dispatched to local residence regarding an argument in the front yard. Upon arrival all appeared normal. Officers spoke with the home owner who admitted there had been a verbal argument between him and his son earlier. He stated that his son had left and that all would be fine. Case closed.

Animal Complaint — Officers responded to a barking dog complaint.

Suspicious Situation — Officers responded to a local business regarding a suspicious substance found in their trash. The case remains open at this time.

Fraud — Officers responded to a local business on a complaint of a customer who paid with a check from a closed account. The case remains open at this time.

Assist — Officers were requested to assist the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department with an intoxicated citizen.

Civil Complaint — Officers responded to a 911 call that a turkey had been taken hostage by a neighbor. Officers spoke with the two parties involved and the issue was resolved.

Illegal Burn — While on patrol, officers discovered a resident burning refuse which violated a city ordinance. The Evart Fire Department extinguished the flames. The homeowner was issued a municipal citation.
