Reed City 4\/4 Officers were dispatched to local residence regarding a 78-year-old man found deceased\u00a0in his home. No foul play is suspected and he is believed to have died of natural causes. Case\u00a0closed. Officers arrested a 42-year-old male who was found to have a warrant for child support. He was\u00a0transported and lodged in the Osceola County Jail without incident. Officers were called to perform a welfare check on a crying baby at a local apartment complex.\u00a0Officers found there were no signs of ill treatment. Case closed. 4\/5 Officers served No Trespass papers on an individual lodged at the Osceola County Jail.\u00a0The 23-year-old male signed and stated he understood that he was not to be back on the property. Officers received a report of a suspicious situation regarding an email claiming money was\u00a0owed. Officers confirmed it is a well known scam. Case closed. 4\/6 Officer presence was requested in a civil matter. Officers issued advice on the correct\u00a0course of action to take to resolve the matter. Officers were called to local apartment regarding a beeping alarm. Officers found the battery\u00a0was low and assisted with replacing it for the 89-year-old tenant. 4\/7 While on patrol, officers observed a vacant home in violation of the city ordinance No.\u00a01060.02 for trash and refuse in addition to the city ordinance No. 652.06 (b)(e) for dangerous\u00a0buildings and other structures. The appropriate abatement paperwork was processed and sent to\u00a0the owner. Officers were dispatched to local apartment complex regarding a parking violation in the parking\u00a0lot. Officers located the owner of the vehicle in question, who stated he was about to replace the\u00a0battery he just purchased. Case closed. While on patrol, officers observed a vehicle in the driveway of local residence in violation of\u00a0city ordinance No. 1284.13 regarding the storage of inoperable or unregistered vehicles. Contact\u00a0with the owner and advised of the violation. An abatement notice was completed and served to\u00a0the owner at that time. Officers were dispatched to local business regarding an activated burglar alarm. Officers found\u00a0the store to be secure with nothing appearing out of the norm. Officers were dispatched to local residence regarding threats and a possible violation of carrying\u00a0a concealed handgun in violation of the law. The handgun was confiscated pending review by\u00a0the Osceola County Prosecuting Attorney. While on patrol, officers observed a vehicle in the driveway of local residence in violation of\u00a0city ordinance No. 1284.13 regarding the storage of inoperable or unregistered vehicles. An\u00a0abatement notice has been prepared and will be served to the owner. 4\/8 Officers were dispatched to local residence regarding a deceased 56-year-old male. No\u00a0foul play is suspected and he is believed to have died of natural causes. 4\/10 Officers were requested to perform a well-being check on a local residence. The caller was\u00a0concerned the 47-year-old male in question may be suicidal. Officers located and spoke to the\u00a0male. No one else was in the residence and the situation was resolved. Officers were request to perform a well-being check on an 86-year-old male. Officers arrived\u00a0finding him the victim of a prank phone call, leaving him upset. Officers were able to calm him\u00a0down and stayed with him until family could arrive. Officers were called to a local church regarding a missing wallet. The matter is under\u00a0investigation.
