Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle within Richmond Township for a speeding infraction. Through investigation it was discovered that the operator was operating their vehicle without insurance or a valid registration plate. The operator was issued two misdemeanor citations and one civil infraction citation for the incident, and the vehicle as towed from the scene.

Deputies investigated two vehicle crashes, which occurred within Burdell and Richmond townships.

Deputies were dispatched to the Village of Marion on the report of a male juvenile subject wielding a large knife and chasing people. Upon arrival the juvenile was restrained by bystanders, the knife was secured and the juvenile’s parents were located. Investigation revealed that the juvenile was in need of the assistance from community mental health; therefore he was transported to the hospital for a mental evaluation and released into the custody of his parents. The deputies concluded their investigation and forwarded their incident report to the Prosecutor’s Office for review.

Deputies were dispatched to a Reed City business on the report of an active entry alarm complaint. Upon arrival the scene was checked and found to be secured.

Deputies responded to Sylvan Township and arrested a subject on the strength of a valid felony warrant, which was issued out of the state of Colorado. The subject was secured and transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident.

A deputy investigated one vehicle crash, which occurred within Richmond Township.

Deputies were dispatched to the City of Evart on the report of a suspicious person complaint. Upon arrival the subject was located, identified and determined to be a danger to themselves and others, along with violating the conditions of their probation. The subject was taken into protective custody and was transported to Spectrum Health Reed City Hospital for a mental evaluation. Charges are pending on the probation violation.

A deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle within the City of Evart for a defective brake light. Through investigation it was discovered that the operator was driving the vehicle with a suspended driver’s license out of Indiana and did not have a driver’s license out of Michigan. The operator was issued a misdemeanor citation for the offence and their vehicle was towed from the scene.

Deputies investigated four vehicle crashes and one crash involving injuries. Incidents occurred within Richmond, Marion and Burdell townships.

Deputies investigated four vehicle crashes, which occurred within Highland, Richmond, Sylvan and Leroy townships.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle within Rose Lake Township for failing to signal at an intersection. Through investigation it was discovered that the operator was driving their vehicle while intoxicated. The operator was arrested and transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident.

A sergeant conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle within Highland Township for an equipment violation. Through investigation it was discovered that the operator was driving their vehicle with a suspended drivers license (second offence) and also had valid warrants issued for his arrest. Further investigation revealed that a passenger within the vehicle also had valid warrants issued for their arrest. At that time both subjects were arrested and transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle within Hersey Township for an equipment violation. Through investigation it was discovered that the operator was driving his vehicle without insurance and with an improper registration plate. It was further discovered that a passenger within the vehicle was in possession of an open intoxicant, supplied false information to officers and had a valid Kent City warrant issued for their arrest. At that time the passenger was arrested, the operator was issued two misdemeanor citations for the incident and the vehicle was towed from the scene. The passenger was also transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident.

Deputies were dispatched to Rose Lake Township on the report of an assault and battery complaint. Upon arrival the scene was secured, and through investigation it was discovered that an argument ensued over property lines, and the suspect assaulted the victim. The deputies completed their investigation and arrested the aggressor for said offence. The aggressor was then transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident.

Reed City

Officers were called to a residence on West Franklin Avenue for a trespassing complaint. The complainant reported neighbors cutting through his yard. The subjects were located and given a warning.

Officers responded to the elementary school for a disruptive and out of control student. Officers arrived on scene and stood by until the parents of the child arrived to take the student home.

Officers were called to a bank for a check fraud complaint. The suspect had cashed two checks that returned non-sufficient funds. Through investigation it was determined that the suspect had stolen the checks from his former employer. The matter is under further investigation.

Officers investigated a traffic complaint.

Officers responded to a business for a trespassing complaint. The owner of the business stated that the subjects were harassing others and wanted them trespassed from the property. The subjects were located and served with the trespass notice.

Officers were called to a residence for a larceny complaint. The complainant reported money missing from his pants pocket. The complaint is under further investigation.

Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. It was discovered that the driver was operating the vehicle without insurance. The driver was arrested and lodged in the Osceola County Jail without incident.

Officers handled an unlawful entry complaint. The complainant reported that a female walked into his house asking if he wanted to switch gas companies. The complaint is under further investigation.

Officers responded to the elementary school for a report of a student assaulting staff. A report was completed and forwarded to Probate Court for review. The child was turned over to his mother without further incident.

Officers were called to the courthouse to arrest a subject for being in violation of her probation conditions. The subject was arrested and lodged in the Osceola County Jail without incident.

Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. It was discovered that the driver was operating the vehicle without insurance. The driver was arrested and lodged in the Osceola County Jail without incident.

Officers were requested to stand by while Child Protective Services checked a residence.

Officers responded to an apartment complex for a report of a juvenile child assaulting his mother. Officers arrived on scene and were able to calm the juvenile down. A report was completed and submitted to Probate Court.

Officers assisted the Michigan State Police on a three-vehicle traffic crash on U.S. 10.

Officers were called to an apartment complex for a harassment complaint. The complainant was provided with a course of action. Nothing that was reported was criminal in nature.

Officers were called to a business for a report of suspicious people being on the property. It was determined that the subjects were allowed to be at the business and the complaint was unfounded.

Officers assisted the Mecosta County Sheriff's Department in checking a residence for a stolen dog.

Officers were called to a residence on East Lincoln Avenue for a civil complaint. The complainant reported that her payee was keeping her aide money. The complainant was provided with a course of action.

Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. It was discovered that the driver was operating the vehicle without insurance and with an improper license plate. The driver was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident.

Officers stood by at the Reed City High School football game.
