Deputies investigated two vehicle crashes and one crash with injuries. Incidents occurred within Burdell, Lincoln and Sylvan Townships.

Deputies were dispatched to a residence within Reed City on the report of a domestic assault complaint. Upon arrival, the scene was secured, and through investigation it was determined that an assault did occur between two subjects involved in a domestic relationship. The aggressor was later arrested for the assault and violating the conditions of their probation and was transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident.

Deputies investigated two vehicle crashes, which occurred within Osceola and Richmond Townships.

A sergeant was dispatched to Cedar Township on the report of a tractor being parked in the middle of the roadway, thus causing a traffic hazard. Upon arrival the tractor was located and was verified that it was blocking both lanes of travel. At that time the tractor was removed, as all attempts to identify the owner were exhausted and unsuccessful.

A deputy located a vehicle operating on the rails to trails within Orient Township. The deputy issued said subject a warning for this incident and released the driver from the scene after their credentials were verified.

A sergeant conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle within Highland Township. Through investigation it was discovered that a passenger within the vehicle had a valid felony warrant issued out of Arenac County. At that time the subject was arrested and was transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident.

Deputies were dispatched to a business within Richmond Township on the report of a possible suicidal subject complaint. Upon arrival the scene was secured and through investigation determined that said subject was a potential danger to themselves. At that time the subject voluntarily accompanied the deputies to the Emergency Room for a mental evaluation.

A seputy responded to the Osceola County Parole Office and arrested a subject for violating the conditions of their parole. The subject was secured and transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle within Richmond Township for driving left of the center line. Through investigation it was discovered that the operator was driving said vehicle while intoxicated with an expired drivers license and was in possession of an open intoxicants. The subject was arrested and transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident.

Reed City

08/18 Officers issued multiple trash abatements to property owners in the city. The owners have the allotted time to correct the violation or further enforcement action will be taken. Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. It was discovered that the driver was operating the vehicle without insurance. The driver was arrested and lodged in the Osceola County Jail without incident. Officers were called to the parking lot of a business for a two vehicle accident. There were no injuries and only minor damage. A report was completed. Officers located a subject while on a traffic stop that had an outstanding warrant out of the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department. The subject was arrested on the warrant and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident. Officers responded to a residence for a breaking and entering complaint. The complainant returned home to find that items in her house were stolen. A report was completed and the matter is under further investigation. 08/19 Officers were requested to assist a Parole Officer at the Reed City Motel. A subject was arrested for parole violation and lodged in the Osceola County Jail without incident. Officers responded to an apartment complex for a harassment complaint. The complainant was being harassed on social media. The complainant did not wish to pursue charges. A report was completed and the complainant was provided with a course of action. Officers were called to a residence for a malicious destruction of property complaint. The complainant reported damage to the lock on her storage shed. A report was completed. Officers responded to an apartment complex for a report of a sick raccoon. The raccoon was put down and disposed of. Officers on patrol located two suspicious people in Rambadt Park after hours. The subjects were identified and given a warning for being in the park after hours. 08/20 Officers responded to City Hall for an alarm. Upon arrival it was determined to be a false alarm and everything was OK. Officers were called to a business for a gas drive off complaint. The subject pumped $12 worth of gas and failed to pay. The suspect was identified and located. The matter has been forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office for an arrest warrant. Officers responded to a business for an abandoned vehicle. The vehicle was checked and tagged as abandoned. Officers were called to a business for a civil complaint. The complainant reported that the suspect had received services and failed to pay as agreed. The suspect was contacted and arrangements have been made to pay. Officers on patrol located a subject camping on Rails to Trails. The subject was given a warning and advised of proper areas to camp. Officers handled a walk-in criminal sexual conduct complaint between a 13-year-old boy and a 3-year-old female. Multiple interviews were conducted and the matter is under further investigation. 08/21 Officers assisted in locating a subject with dementia that had wondered off from the Eagle’s Nest. The subject was located and returned. 08/22 Officers handled a harassment complaint at an apartment complex between two tenants. The subject was advised not to have any further contact with the complainant. Officers were called to the hospital to assist. Upon arrival officers were disregarded. Officers responded to Reed City Motel for a report of a disorderly subject in the parking lot. Upon arrival the subject had departed. 08/23 Officers assisted the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department with a counterfeit money investigation. Officers were called to a business for a person stumbling around the parking lot. The subject departed prior to the arrival of officers. Officers assisted the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department with a road rage complaint. The suspect vehicle was stopped on U.S. 10 and Lakola Road. Once the scene was secure the officer resumed normal patrol duties within the city. 08/24 Officers observed a subject in a residence where the homeowner was in prison. Officers made contact and identified the subject who was determined to be renting the house.
