Reed City


Officers responded to a residence on Osceola Street for a report of a larceny from vehicle. The complainant stated that someone had stolen his bow from the vehicle. The incident is under investigation.


Officers on patrol located a vehicle in the ditch on U.S. 10. The driver of the vehicle had fled the scene prior to the officer’s arrival. The vehicle was impounded.

Officers assisted the Michigan State Police and the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department with a shooting in Hersey Township. Once the scene was secured the officer resumed normal patrol duties within the city.


Officers assisted the Reed City Fire Department with doing crowd control at a structure fire on West Todd Avenue.


Officers were called to a residence for a civil matter regarding child custody. The child who was 16 years old was refusing to return to her mother’s home. Officers advised the parties that it was a civil matter and provided them with a course of action.


Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. It was determined that one of the female passengers had a warrant out of Iowa; however they would not extradite her back to Iowa and was released. A male passenger had an outstanding warrant out of the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department. While being taken into custody, it was determined that the male subject was in possession of medical marijuana which was a violation of his probation conditions. The subject was arrested on the warrant and probation violation and lodged in the Osceola County Jail without incident.


Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. It was discovered that the driver was operating the vehicle on an expired operator’s license. The driver was given an appearance citation at the scene and released.



An officer was dispatched to a larceny of Christmas decorations complaint. The complaint is still under investigation.

An officer was dispatched to a business for an alarm. The officer made contact with an employee who was on scene. The employee advised she accidentally activated the alarm.

An officer assisted Children Protective Services with an investigation.

An officer was dispatched to assist ambulance personnel with a medical emergency.


An officer was dispatched to a civil complaint. The officer advised both parties how to best resolve their discrepancies.


An officer was dispatched to an alarm at a closed business. The officer discovered the front door was left unlocked. The building was searched for intruders and then secured by an employee.


An officer was dispatched to a check well-being complaint. The officer made contact with the subject at their residence, and determined everything was okay.

An officer assisted two motorists that became disabled on U.S. 10.


An officer was dispatched to investigate a two-vehicle property damage accident.

An officer was dispatched to assist the Osceola County Sheriff Department on a report of a snowmobile that fell into the river. After a search was conducted it was determined the suspected snowmobile was actually wooden debris.
