Reed City


Officers were requested to be present at a local business while a meeting took place. The employees felt the female in question was likely to have some mental health issues and had previously been in causing a disturbance. No problems were noted at that time.


While performing a traffic stop for speeding, officers found the 32-year-old male driver to have an open container of liquor. An appearance citation was issued to for transporting open intoxicant and speeding.

Officers were requested to a local residence to assist a suicidal individual. Officers transported the individual to the Spectrum Health Reed City Hospital emergency room where they signed in voluntarily for a mental health evaluation.

Officers were dispatched to local apartment complex regarding a group of children making a lot of noise outside after 11 p.m. Upon the officer's arrival there was no one around.

Officers were dispatched to a local residence for a death investigation. The death was ruled to be natural causes.


Officers were called by an out-of-state family member to perform a well-being check at a local residence for possible carbon monoxide poisoning. Upon the officer's arrival, the mater had already been handled and the home had been checked by the Reed City Fire Department and DTE Energy.

Officers were dispatched to Spectrum Health Reed City Hospital regarding a missing item belonging to one of the patients. The matter is under investigation.

Officers were dispatched to local apartment complex regarding a possible domestic assault in progress. The female showed no signs of physical injury and denied medical attention. The male agreed to stay over night elsewhere to allow time for things to calm down. The matter has been turned over to the prosecuting attorney’s office for review.

Officers were dispatched to local residence to respond to a 911 hang up call. All was well; the phone belonged to a grandchild in the home. Case closed.

Officers were dispatched to respond to an alarm activation. It appeared a power surge may have activated the alarm. Case closed.

Officers observed a 35-year-old male who had an outstanding warrant from Ferris State University Public Safety. The individual was taken into custody, transported and turned over to the FSUPD without incident.


Officers arrested a 24-year-old male who had a criminal bench for contempt out of the Reed City 77th District Court. He was transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident.

Officers located a 31-year-old female and arrested her on an outstanding warrant for driving with no insurance and having a suspended license.


Officers observed a 19-year-old male in a parking lot who was known to have several outstanding warrants. The individual was placed under arrest and transported to the Osceola County Jail where he was lodged without incident.

Officers were dispatched to local a residence regarding a neighbor observing a suspicious situation next door. The neighbor believed the homeowners were out of town and observed someone getting into their camper. The responding officers found the homeowners were winterizing their camper.

Officers were requested to assist with scene security while the Michigan State Police Department performed a vehicle search.
