An officer received a lost property complaint. The property value was over $2,000 and a notification was placed on the departments Facebook page and App Arrest page. Information was reported to the department regarding the location of the property. The officer followed up on the information and the property was returned to the owner.

An officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle with an expired registration plate. The officer learned the driver had a suspended license and did not have insurance. The driver was arrested and the vehicle was impounded.

An officer was dispatched to conduct a death investigation that was determined to be a natural death.

An officer was dispatched to a local business reference a failure to pay complaint. The officer made contact with the complainant, who indicated an individual left without paying for fuel. This incident remains open pending additional follow up.

An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a harassment complaint. Upon arrival, the officer made contact with the complainant and advised him how to best handle the situation. The officer cleared the scene without incident.

Officers handled a larceny of a cell phone complaint. It was discovered that the cell phone was not stolen and it was misplaced and recovered.

Officers responded to a two-vehicle traffic crash on West Upton Avenue at Chestnut Street. There were no injuries and only minor damage. A report was completed.

Officers were called to the hospital to assist Child Protective Services on an investigation regarding suspected child abuse. The complaint was unfounded.

Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. It was discovered that the driver was operating the vehicle without a license in his possession and was transporting an open container of alcohol inside the vehicle. The driver was given an appearance citation at the scene. One of the passengers in the vehicle had an outstanding warrant out of the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Department and while being arrested was found to be in possession of marijuana and was arrested and lodged in the Osceola County Jail. Another passenger was also found to be in possession of an open container of alcohol and was given an appearance citation at the scene.

Officers transported a student home from the elementary school that was being suspended for the day. The student was turned over to her father.

Officers were called to an apartment complex for a report of a suicidal subject that had cut his throat with a knife. Officers responded to the scene and the subject was located and transported to the hospital for medical attention.

Officers handled a threats complaint. The complainant reported that he received threats from a Reed City resident but did not wish to pursue charges. A report was completed.

Officers assisted a stranded motorist on South Chestnut Street.

Officers attempted to locate the parents of a sick child who was at school. The parents were contacted and came to the school to pick their child up.

Officers assisted School Officials in a complaint of a student being in possession of marijuana. The student was located and it was determined that the student had already discarded the marijuana. The matter is being handled by school officials.

Officers responded to a residence for a larceny complaint. The complainant reported that $30 was missing from his wallet. A possible suspect has been identified and the matter is under investigation.

Officers were called to a residence for a suspicious situation. The complainant reported that three males entered her apartment through her sliding glass door. It was determined that the complainant suffered from mental illness and the complaint was unfounded.

Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. It was discovered that the driver was operating the vehicle with no insurance. The driver was arrested and lodged in the Osceola County Jail without incident. Officers believed that the driver and occupants were transporting stolen property in the vehicle. The vehicle was impounded and contact was made with surrounding counties. It was discovered that the items in the vehicle were in fact stolen from a breaking and entering of a residence in Mason County. The vehicle and contents were turned over to the Mason County Sheriff’s Department and additional charges are pending in Mason County on the driver and occupants.

Officers responded to a residence for a possible malicious destruction of property complaint. The complainant reported that her tire was flat this morning. No foot tracks were visible in the snow and the complaint was unfounded.

Officers handled a walk in identity theft complaint. The complainant reported that someone opened up a call phone account in his name. A report was completed.

Officers responded to a residence for a 9-1-1 hang up call. It was determined that a mentally challenged person was playing with a cell phone and had dialed 9-1-1.

Officers assisted the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department at a business just outside the city with a disorderly subject. Once the scene was secure the officer resumed normal patrol duties within the city.

Officers were called to the hospital for a mental subject that had walked out. The subject was located walking on Patterson Road and was returned to the hospital.

Officers responded to the 400 block of East Osceola Street for a noise complaint. The complaint was unfounded.

Officers assisted the Michigan State Police at the hospital in obtaining a blood draw from a subject on a court order.

Officers responded to a residence for a civil complaint. The complainant reported that her neighbor blew snow into her driveway. The subject was talked to and advised.

Officers were called to an apartment complex for a noise complaint. Upon arrival no noise was heard and the complaint was unfounded.

Officers responded to a residence for a civil complaint. The complainant reported that her neighbor plowed snow over a fire hydrant. Contact was made with the subject who was not aware that there was a fire hydrant there. DPW was contacted to shovel out the fire hydrant.

Deputies investigated eight vehicle crashes and two vehicle crashes with injuries. Incidents occurred within Leroy, Marion, Richmond, Burdell and Lincoln Townships.

Deputies checked on a disabled Lincoln Township vehicle. Through investigation it was determined that said operator and lone occupant were operating their vehicle while they were intoxicated, and possessed open intoxicants. The driver was then arrested and was transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident.

Deputies investigated one vehicle crash and one vehicle crash with injuries. Incidents occurred within Marion and Lincoln Townships.

Deputies assisted employees of an Evart Township juvenile dentition home with a resident who was attempting to harm themselves. Upon arrival the deputies secured the scene and provided scene security while the juvenile was secured and transported to a local hospital for a mental evaluation.

Deputies assisted the Reed City Police Department with a subject who was attempting to harm themselves. Upon arrival the deputies secured the scene and assisted the Reed City officer with securing the subject in question. The deputies then cleared the scene once their assistance was no longer needed.

Deputies conducted a court-order transport where a subject was taken to a Grand Rapids area mental hospital. The transport was completed without incident, and the deputies returned to the county upon completion.

Deputies responded to the Village of Marion and arrested a subject on several valid felony warrants, which were issued out of Wexford County. The subject was then transported to the Wexford/Osceola County line where they were turned over to the issuing jurisdiction.

Deputies assisted the Wexford County Sheriff’s Office and the Michigan State Police with a pursuit of a vehicle that was traveling south through Osceola County. Osceola County deputies set up within Richmond Township and deployed "stop sticks," which caused the suspect’s vehicle tires to deflate, which safely ended the pursuit. The driver was then taken into custody and was transported to Kalkaska County without incident.

Deputies were dispatched to a Lincoln Township home on the report of a domestic assault complaint. Upon arrival, the scene was secured and through investigation it was determined that an assault did occur between two subjects involved in a domestic relationship. At that time the aggressor was arrested and was transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident.

Deputies investigated five vehicle crashes, which occurred within Lincoln, Burdell, Richmond and Highland Townships.

A deputy responded to the Circuit Court Parole Office and arrested a subject for violating the conditions of their parole. The subject was arrested and was transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident.

Deputies investigated three vehicle crashes and one vehicle crash with injuries. Incidents occurred within Richmond, Rose Lake and Burdell Townships.

Deputies were dispatched to a Lincoln Township home on the report of a domestic assault complaint. Upon arrival the scene was secured and through investigation it was determined that an assault did occur between two subjects involved in a domestic relationship. At that time the aggressor was arrested and was transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident.
