06/24-06/30

06/24/13

• Officers responded to a traffic hazard on N Chestnut St near US 10 for a report of construction materials in the roadway.  Officers stood by until the Department of Public Works could remove the items from the roadway.

• Officers were called to a residence for a possible breaking and entering complaint.  The complainant reported that the cable modem was missing from the apartment.  It was determined that a roommate that was moving out had taken the modem as it was in her name.

• Officers responded to a residence for a threats complaint.  It was determined that the incident had occurred in Evart and was turned over to the Evart Police Department for investigation.

• Officers issued a grass abatement notice to a property owner in the city.  The owner has the allotted time to correct the violation or further enforcement action will be taken.

• Officers responded to an apartment complex for a report of a domestic.  Upon arrival it was determined that no assault had occurred, however the suspect had taken the complainant’s vehicle without permission and had damaged it in addition to having a suspended license.  The suspect was arrested on multiple charges and lodged in the Osceola County Jail without incident.

06/25/13

• Officers were called to the area of W Lincoln Ave for a report of a dog at large.  The dog was captured and transported to the Animal Shelter until claimed by the owner.

• Officers responded to a residence for a missing juvenile complaint.  The parents reported that their daughter was supposed to be at a friend’s house, however she never went there.  Officers searched the city for the juvenile and a couple hours later she had returned home.  It was determined that the juvenile had gone to a party in Mecosta County and was the victim of a sexual assault.  A joint investigation was conducted with the Mecosta County Sheriff’s Office.

06/26/13

• Officers were called to the hospital for to assist with a combative patient that had overdosed the night before on drugs.  Officers assisted the staff and departed once the subject was secured in restraints.

• Officers responded to a trailer park for a report of lights being on in the residence and the owner being out of town.  Officers checked the trailer and found that the owner’s son was inside and had permission to be there.  No further action was needed.

• Officers were called for a suspicious person staggering in the roadway at W Todd Ave and S Higbee St.  Officers located the subject who was highly intoxicated and on parole.  The subject was arrested for being in violation of his parole conditions and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident.

06/27/13

• Officers responded to a two vehicle traffic crash at the intersection of Sears St and W Upton Ave.  There was moderate damage and minor injuries.  A report was completed.

• Officers were called to the area of W Todd Ave for a report of a 3 year old wandering around the neighborhood.  Officers located the toddler’s father who was given a warning.

• Officers responded to a residence for a trespassing complaint.  The complainant wished to file trespassing charges on two individuals.  It was determined that the subject left the property as requested by the complainant and therefore there was no violation unless the subjects returned.  The complainant was advised.

• Officers assisted CPS at a residence in the city for a home visit.  There were no problems encountered.

• Officers received information of a subject providing alcohol to minors at his residence.  A report was completed and the matter is under further investigation.

• Officers doing property checks located multiple open doors at a business in the city.  The building was searched and found to be secure.  The property owner was notified.

06/28/13

• Officers were called for a two vehicle traffic crash in the 100 block of W Upton Ave.  There were no injuries and only minor damage.  A report was completed.

• Officers responded to a trespassing complaint at an apartment complex in the city.  The apartment management had drafted a no trespass order on a subject that was currently visiting an apartment.  The subject was located and served the no trespassing notice and then escorted off the property without incident.

• Officers were called to an apartment complex for a neighbor dispute in the parking lot over their children.  All parties were talked to and warned for their conduct.

• Officers responded to a gas station for a disorderly customer.  The customer became upset over the rewards program and caused a scene and was yelling and swearing at the cashier.  The suspect has been identified and the matter is under investigation.

• Officers were called for a barking dog complaint in the 200 block of W Upton Ave.  The dog owner was not home at the time of the violation.  Officers were later able to locate the owner who was cited at that time.

06/29/13

• Officers were requested to assist the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department on a pursuit on US 10.  The vehicle eventually stopped and it was determined that it was an elderly driver that could not see the lights or hear the siren.

• Officers were requested to respond to a domestic violence call at a residence in Hersey to assist the Michigan State Police.  Officers responded to the scene and found that it was a verbal argument only and the matter was turned over to the Michigan State Police.

• Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation.  It was determined that the driver was operating while intoxicated (second offense) and on a suspended license in addition to having an open container of alcohol in the vehicle.  The driver was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident.

06/30/13

• Officers located a subject that had a warrant for his arrested for child support out of the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office.  The subject was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident.

• Officers were called to a residence on W Fifth Ave for a dog bite complaint.  The dog owner was not home at the time of the incident.  The dog was impounded at the Animal Shelter and the owner was later cited for having an unlicensed dog.

• Officers responded to a residence for a barking dog complaint.  The owner of the dog was located and cited.

• Officers located a subject on US 10 that was waving the patrol unit down.  It was determined that the subject was trying to get to the hospital.  The subject was given a ride to the hospital for treatment.
