• An officer assisted a citizen at the Evart Police Department with a civil complaint. The officer made contact with each of the parties involved and advised them how to best handle the situation.

• An officer was dispatched to a residence on a barking dog complaint. The officer made contact with the owner, who was subsequently issued a citation for the barking dog.

• An officer was dispatched to a residence on an illegal dumping complaint. The complainant indicated someone had left several bags of trash on their curb. The case is open pending contact with the suspect.

• While performing a traffic stop, an officer determined the driver to be under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to the Osceola County Jail.

• While on patrol an officer observed damage to a stop sign at the intersection of Lauman Rd. and 10th Street. The officer notified the City of Evart DPW to repair the sign.

• An officer was dispatched to a location outside of the City to assist the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department with a search for a breaking and entering suspect. Officers were not able to locate the suspect.

• An officer was dispatched to a residence outside of the City to assist the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department with a domestic assault

complaint.

• While on patrol, an officer observed two juvenile subjects in violation of City Curfew. The subjects were turned over to their parents.

• An officer was dispatched to a local business in reference to a domestic assault complaint. After making contact with all parties involved, the officer determined an assault did occur. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Osceola County Jail.

• Officers responded to a residence for a larceny of a bicycle complaint. The complainant stated that the bike was stolen while at the Library. A report was taken and the matter is under investigation.

• Officers were called to the Hospital for a disorderly patient. Officers arrived on scene and the subjects had calmed down and were given a warning.

• Officers responded to an apartment complex for a harassment complaint. The complainant advised she was being harassed by her neighbor’s family. A report was completed and the complainant was provided with a course of action on obtaining a personal protection order from the court.

• Officers were called to a business for an alarm. Upon arrival it was determined that a bat flying around the building had triggered the alarm. The property owner was notified.

• Officers did a peace officer stand by for a child custody exchange at a residence. There were no issues.

• Officers picked a subject up at the Barry County Jail that was wanted on four warrants out of the Reed City Police Department for contempt of court. The subject was transported to the Osceola County Jail and lodged on the warrants without incident.

• Officers responded to an apartment complex for a harassing phone calls complaint. A report was completed and the matter is under investigation.

• Officers were called to the hospital for a criminal sexual conduct complaint involving two juveniles. A report was completed and the matter is under investigation.

• Officers responded to an apartment complex for an illegal dumping complaint. The complainant reported that a non resident was dumping trash in the dumpster. The suspect has been identified and the matter is under investigation.

• Officers issued a resident a grass and vehicle abatement. The owner has the allotted time to correct the violations or further enforcement action will be taken.

• Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. It was discovered that the driver was operating on a suspended license and the passenger of the vehicle had an outstanding warrant for contempt of court out of the Ferris State University Police Department. Both subjects were taken into custody and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident.

• Officers were called to an apartment complex for a well being check on an elderly resident. Officers made contact with the resident and everything was ok.

• Officers doing property checks located an open door at a business in the city. The building was checked and found to be secure. The property owner was notified.

• Officers issued a resident a grass and trash abatement. The owner has the allotted time to correct the violations or further enforcement action will be taken.

• Officers were called to an apartment complex to investigate a child abuse complaint. Officers arrived on scene and found that the child had been assaulted by his mother. The mother and another occupant of the residence were in possession of marijuana.

The mother was arrested on the charges of child abuse and possession of marijuana and the other subject was arrested on possession of marijuana. Both individuals were lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident. Child Protective Services was also called to the scene for a joint investigation.

• Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. It was discovered that the driver was operating on a suspended license and the passenger was intoxicated and in violation of his parole conditions. Both individuals were arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident.

• Officers assisted the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department in attempting to locate a suspicious person on US 10. Officers patrolled the area and were not able to locate the individual.

• Officers assisted the Evart Police Department with a subject they had in custody that was being disorderly in the hospital. Once the scene was secure the officer resumed normal patrol duties.
