Officers received a report of a counterfeit check being passed at a local business. The matter is under investigation.

Officers stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. The resulting investigation revealed the 20-year-old female driver was driving without a license in her possession. The driver was released with an appearance citation.


Officers were requested to locate an erratic, possibly intoxicated, driver. The driver was located and given a warning for distracted driving.

Officers located and arrested a 28-year-old male on an outstanding warrant for Contempt of Court.

Officer received a call of an over-the-counter drug being purchased in an unusual amount. The matter is under investigation.

Officer responded for an individual having mental difficulties. The individual was transported for treatment.


Officers attended an event put on by the GT Norman Elementary. The event honored real life heroes and public safety agencies local to the community. The Reed City Police Department thanks the Reed City Area Public Schools for their support.

Officers responded to a local business in reference to threats made by phone. The matter is under investigation.


Officers arrested an 18-year-old male, on an outstanding warrant for three counts of Criminal Sexual conduct in the 3rd degree and one count of Criminal Sexual Conduct in the 4th degree after an approximate month long investigation. The case involves a juvenile victim. The male was lodged at the Osceola County Jail pending arraignment. The investigation is ongoing at this time.

Officers were requested to assist the State of Michigan Parole/Probation with a routine check of a probationer. The check resulted in the arrest of a 20-year-old male for violation of probation.

Officers stopped a vehicle for defective equipment. The stop resulted in a 41-year-old female being issued an appearance citation for not having valid insurance on the vehicle. The vehicle was impounded due to no being insured.


Officers received a call from a concerned citizen believing a neighbor may have been locked out of their residence. Officers checked on the matter. The individual was outside for a prolonged period by choice and was not locked out.

Officers received a complaint of two males making lewd and indecent gestures as they passed by in their vehicle. The matter is under investigation.

Officers responded to assist with traffic safety for the annual Stations of the Cross walk put on by area churches.

Officers were requested to respond for a found bicycle. The owner claimed the bicycle from the caller just prior to officers arrival.


Officers stopped a vehicle for defective equipment. Further investigation resulted in the driver being issued an appearance citation for having an expired driver’s license.
