Officers responded to GT Norman Elementary for a missing child. After an approximate four-hour search, the child was located at a friend’s house and had gone home with the friend without getting permission from his mother.

Officers received a call for a vehicle driving erratically. Upon locating the vehicle, it was discovered that the driver was attempting to avoid the puddles on the side of the road from the melting snow.

Officers were called to GT Norman Elementary for an upset child who was trying to run away from the school. Upon arrival the child was able to be calmed and was sent home with family.

Officers responded to the high school in reference to an inappropriate photograph located on a school computer. The matter is under investigation.

Officers responded to a local residence in reference to internet fraud. The scam involved sending money via Western Union to India in exchange for internet virus protection.

Officers were called to investigate improper photographs on a cell phone. The matter is still under investigation.

Officers were called by Child Protective Services to investigate possible child abuse. The matter is still under investigation.


Officers were called to a local residence for a possible domestic assault in progress. The individuals were located driving away from the residence by the officers. Upon stopping the vehicle it was discovered that it had been a verbal argument only. The 35-year-old male driver was arrested following a short investigation for Operating While Intoxicated, Driving on a Suspended License, Probation Violation and Child Endangerment. The driver was lodged at the Osceola County Jail without further incident. The matter is pending in court.

Officers responded to the emergency room for a disorderly patient. Officers were able to calm the patient and arrange for a ride to get the patient home.


Officers handled two separate ordinance violations involving inoperable vehicles. The Reed City Police Department reminds residents that all inoperable or unregistered vehicles must be stored inside a building.


Officers were dispatched to complaint of loud music. Upon arrival, officers were unable to locate an loud music.

Officers located and arrested an individual on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear on an original charge of Operating a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance. The subject was lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident.


Officers received a laptop that is believed to be stolen. The incident originated outside of city jurisdiction and will be turned over to the correct agency.

Officers responded to a local residence to check on a possible suicidal subject. Upon arrival the matter was unfounded.

Officers were called to a residence for improper disposal of animal waste. The individuals were given a warning and instructed to address the matter immediately.

Officers were dispatched to a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot of an apartment complex. It was determined the driver was waiting for his friend in the wrong complex.

An individual called 911 complaining of medical problems. Upon arrival of officers the caller refused to go for treatment.


Officers were dispatched to a suspicious vehicle at a residence. Upon arrival it was discovered that the individual was moving into the residence.

Officer stopped a vehicle for defective exhaust. The resulting investigation resulted in the arrest of a 28-year-old male for Operating While Intoxicated and Transporting an Open Alcohol Container in a Motor Vehicle.

Officers responded to a matter of criminal sexual conduct. The matter is still under investigation.

Officer stopped a vehicle for defective equipment. An investigation revealed the driver was operating without valid motor vehicle insurance. The vehicle was impounded and the driver was released with a citation.

Officers stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. An investigation revealed the driver was operating a vehicle without a driver’s license in his possession The driver was issued an appearance citation and released.


Officers responded to a report of a domestic assault. The investigation resulted in the arrest of a 21-year-old male. The male was lodged at the Osceola County Jail without further incident. The matter is closed pending court action.

Officers responded to a complaint of loud music. The individual was given a warning and advised no further warnings would be given.
