Osceola County Sheriff's Office 02-08 Deputies were dispatched to Spectrum Health Reed City Hospital on the report of a disorderly subject complaint. Upon arrival the scene was secured and it was discovered that the subject had left once it was determined that deputies were en route. A deputy investigated a vehicle crash which occurred within Leroy Township. 02-09 Deputies investigated two vehicle crashes, which occurred within Rose Lake and Richmond townships. Deputies assisted agents with the Department of Corrections with the check of a parole’s residence. Upon arrival suspected marijuana and other items were located within the residence. The subject was arrested for violating the conditions of their parole and was transported to the Osceola County Jail. Further charges are pending. 02-10 Deputies were dispatched to Lincoln Township on the report of a suspicious subject walking around vacant homes. Upon arrival the area was patrolled, however the suspicious subject was not located. A deputy was dispatched to Rose Lake Township on the report of a possible child abuse complaint. Upon arrival the deputy completed his investigation and requested a joint investigation with child protective services. This case is open, pending further investigation and follow-up. 02-11 Deputies investigated four vehicle crashes which occurred within Middle Branch, Leroy, Richmond and Burdell townships. A deputy was dispatched to a Sylvan Township juvenile detention home on the report of an assault and battery complaint. Through investigation it was discovered that two clients had assaulted each other over a minor disagreement. The deputy completed his investigation and forwarded this report to probate court for charges. 02-12 Deputies were dispatched to a Sylvan Township home on the report of a possible domestic assault complaint where both parties were separated. Upon arrival the scene was secured, and through investigation it was discovered that a possible assault did occur between two subjects involved in a domestic relationship. Since both parties were separated, the deputies cleared the scene and forwarded their report to the prosecutor’s office for charges. A deputy received credible information on an Evart City subject who had a valid Osceola County warrant issued for their arrest. The deputy arrived at the location, took the wanted subject into custody and transported them to the Osceola County Jail without incident. On 02-13-2015 Deputies investigated two vehicle crashes which occurred within Richmond and Hersey townships. Deputies conducted a court-ordered mental transport to a Kent County mental hospital. The transport was completed without incident and the deputies returned to the county upon completion. 02-14 Deputies investigated five vehicle crashes, which occurred within Richmond, Leroy, Lincoln and Rose Lake townships. A deputy was dispatched to a Sherman Township home on the report of a check well-being complaint, as the complainant had not seen or spoke to his elderly neighbor in three days. Upon arrival the scene was assessed and soft entry was made into the home. While searching the residence, the elderly subject was found in a corner, as he became injured, fell and was not able to move or call for help. The subject was then transported to the hospital via Osceola County EMS for treatment. Reed City 2/16 Officers observed a vehicle driving in an unusual manner and made a stop on the vehicle. The investigation lead to the arrest of a 42-year-old male for operating while intoxicated and introducing a controlled substance into a correctional facility. The matter is closed pending court action. 2/17 Officers observed a 30-year-old female known to officers to have a suspended driver's license. A stop was made on the vehicle and the female driver was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail for operating while driver's license suspended, first offense, closed pending court action. Officer responded to a local residence in reference to the complaint of a family member opening a fraudulent credit card in the victim's name. The suspects are reported to have charged several thousand dollars on the fraudulent card. The matter is under further investigation and charges are expected to be sought. Officers responded to an assault complaint at a local apartment complex. The matter is under investigation. Officers were called to a local apartment complex in reference to drug paraphernalia. The matter is under investigation. 2/18 Officers were requested to respond to a local residence and check on the owner who had not been heard from in several days. Officers responded and the individual was found to have been out of town. Officers were called to the scene of a two car property damage accident near the intersection of North Chestnut and West Stimson streets. No injuries were reported. One vehicle was not able to be driven from the scene due to damage. During an investigation, officers learned a 55-year-old male had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant from the Osceola County Friend of the Court. The male was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident. 2/19 Officers were responded to a one-car property damage accident at the intersection of West Lincoln Avenue and Sout Higbee Street. No injuries were reported. Officers were called to assist Child Protective Services on the check of a child's well being. Assistance was given and the matter is closed without incident. Officers observed a vehicle with no license plate attached to the vehicle. A stop was made and it was discovered the vehicle had just been purchased, however was being driven without motor vehicle insurance. The 20-year-old male driver was issued an appearance citation and released. The Reed City Police Department reminds drivers that anytime a vehicle is moved on a public roadway or in an area generally accessible to the public it must have current motor vehicle insurance coverage. Officers were requested to conduct a well-being check on a local resident. Contact was made and well being was determined. 2/20 Officers responded to a local commercial building in reference to thousands of dollars in damage. The investigation led to the discovery of damage at a second location. The matter is under investigation. Officers were called to investigate a small quantity of a suspicious substance that had been found that was believed to be illegal drugs. The matter is under investigation. Officers responded to a suspicious vehicle at a local business. The vehicle was found to have been left by the cleaning crew the previous night. Officers were requested to assist an out of state agency with in an attempt to locate a missing juvenile. The matter will be investigated further. Officers were requested to a local residence for a civil stand by while an ex-boyfriend retrieved possessions. Officers assisted without incident. Officers located younger males standing outside a local laundromat in the early morning hours. Contact was made and it was verified that laundry was being done. 2/21 Officers were called to a local business in reference to a retail fraud. The suspect fled on foot before officers arrival. The matter is being investigated further and officers are awaiting video footage of the incident. A traffic stop was made on a vehicle for defective equipment and an investigation revealed the 51-year-old female driver was operating without a driver's license in her possession. The driver was issued an appearance citation and released. Officers assisted the Osceola County Sheriff Department on a BOL for an erratic driver. The driver was found to be elderly and confused. Officers located an intoxicated male at the Depot and conducted a well being check due to cold temperatures. It was verified that the male was awaiting a ride from a friend and not in danger at that time of the cold temperatures. Officers checked back a short time later and the male had departed with his friend. Officers responded to a local residence in reference to a possible domestic assault. An investigation revealed it was a verbal argument only. Warnings were issued for noise and the parties agreed to separate for the night. Evart 2/16 An officer conducting a follow up discovered an unserved warrant. The subject was arrested and taken to jail. An officer received a criminal sexual conduct complaint. An officer responded to a breaking and entering complaint. The matter is still under investigation. 2/19 An officer was dispatched to a two-vehicle property damage accident. An officer was dispatched to a trespassing complaint. The subject had left prior to the officer’s arrival. 2/21 An officer was dispatched to Wesco for a harassment complaint. The aggressor had left prior to the officer’s arrival. An officer was dispatched to a neighbor dispute over property exchange. The subjects were advised to resolve the matter in small claims court. An officer was dispatched to a noise complaint. A warning was given. 2/22 An officer was dispatched to assist on an investigation of a stolen vehicle complaint.
