Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle within Sherman Township for a speeding infraction. Through investigation it was discovered that the operator was driving their vehicle while intoxicated. At that time the operator was arrested and was transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident.

Deputies were dispatched to a Lincoln Township residence on the report of a 911 hang-up complaint. Upon arrival the scene was secured, and through investigation it was discovered that a young child had dialed 911 on a cell phone, and no emergency existed. At that time the deputies educated the child on when it was appropriate to dial 911 and cleared the scene once their assistance was no longer needed.

A deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle within Marion Township for a speeding infraction. Through investigation it was discovered that the operator was driving the vehicle while their driver’s license was suspended. At that time the operator was issued a misdemeanor citation for this offence and was released from the scene. The vehicle was released to a licensed driver.

A deputy was dispatched to a Marion Township home on the report of a breaking and entering complaint, where a large amount of change and a pair of boots were taken. Through investigation a suspect was identified, located and interviewed in regards to this incident. The suspect returned the boots to the victim and a report has been forwarded to the prosecutor’s office for charges.

Deputies investigated six vehicle crashes which occurred within Hersey, Leroy and Lincoln townships.

Deputies were dispatched to an Evart Township home on the report of a breaking and entering complaint. Upon arrival the scene was secured and through investigation the stolen item was located at a local re-sale store. The suspect was then identified, located, arrested and transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident.

Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle within Richmond Township for failing to signal at several intersections. Through investigations the deputies located several unregistered dogs within the vehicle. The operator was issued a citation for this offence and was released from the scene.

A deputy was dispatched to a Richmond Township home on the report of a juvenile run-away complaint. Through investigation the deputy located the juvenile and transported them back to their residence, where they were turned over to their parents. This report has been forwarded to the prosecutor’s office and Probate Court for review.

Deputies investigated two vehicle crashes which occurred within Orient and Marion townships.

A deputy was dispatched to a Hersey Township business on the report of an illegal use of a credit card complaint. Through investigation the suspect was identified; however turned out to be a family member of the card holder. After further investigation, it was discovered that the card holder did not wish to pursue criminal charges on the suspect. The deputy then cleared the scene once his assistance was no longer needed.

Deputies responded to a Marion Village home as they were attempting to locate a breaking and entering suspect. Through investigation the breaking and entering suspect was not located; however three subjects, which had several valid warrants issued for their arrest, were located within the residence. At that time the wanted subjects were arrested and transported to the Osceola County Jail without incident.

Deputies were dispatched to a Marion Village home on the report of a domestic assault complaint, where both parties were separated. Upon arrival the scene was secured and through investigation it was discovered that a possible assault did occur between two subjects involved in a domestic relationship. Since both parties were already separated, the deputies cleared the scene once their assistance was no longer needed. This report has been forwarded to the prosecutor’s office for review.

An officer was dispatched to a disturbance at a residence. It was determined that a physical altercation had occurred. One of the subjects involved was arrested and transported to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department where they were lodged on charges.

An officer responded to a residence to conduct a well-being check. An officer stood by as one of the subjects gathered their belongings and left without incident.

An officer responded to a private property damage accident that occurred at a local business. No injuries were reported.

An officer was dispatched to a suspicious situation on the south end of town. It was reported a male subject was going around knocking on doors. The officer checked the area and the subject was gone upon the officer’s arrival.

Reed City

Officers responded to Reed City High School in reference to a vehicle fire. No injuries were reported and the vehicle was unoccupied at the time. No other vehicles were damaged.

Officers responded to a two-vehicle property damage accident on West Upton. No injuries were reported.

Officers responded to the high school in reference to a minor altercation. The matter is being handled by school staff.

Officer responded to a complaint of a larceny from a vehicle. The matter is still under investigation. The Reed City Police Department reminds citizens to lock their vehicle doors at night.

Officers responded to Slosson Street in reference to a male walking in the roadway. The male was given a verbal warning and advised to use the sidewalk.

Officers responded to a local residence to assist the State of Michigan Parole Department on an individual who violated his parole. The individual was lodged at the Osceola County Jail and is awaiting a court hearing.

Officer responded to a local apartment complex with Child Protective Service to assist with a possible two separate neglect investigations. The matters are still under investigation.

Officer made a traffic stop and the resulting investigation revealed that the vehicle was being operated without vehicle insurance. The 35-year-old male driver was lodged at the Osceola County Jail without further incident.

Officers were responded to GT Norman Elementary in reference to a threats complaint. The matter was investigated and no credible threat was found.

Officers stopped a vehicle and further investigation revealed the vehicle did not have valid insurance. The 46-year-old female was lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident.

Officers were dispatched to a local business in reference to a suspicious male subject. The area was checked but the male had departed prior to officers arrival.

Officers were dispatched to the 300 block of North Chestnut in reference to a suspicious male going door to door “to save customers money on heating bills.” The caller believed it may have been a scam. Officers checked the area but the male had departed.
