Evart Police Report Nov. 26-Dec. 2 11/26 ● An officer received an alleged assault referral from DHS.  The officer made contact with the complainant. The case is inactive at this time. ● An officer received a statement taken from the Osceola County Sherriff’s Department reference retail fraud.  The officer made contact with the complainant. The case is closed. ● An officer received a letter at the Evart P.D. reference a civil property dispute.  The letter was filed with the Evart P.D. in the instance that further intervention is needed.  The case is closed. ● An officer assisted the Osceola County Parole and Probation reference a sex offender who was reported to be residing near a student safety zone.  The case is inactive. ● An officer was dispatched to assist the Evart Middle School.  The officer made contact with the complainant, and the case is closed. ● An officer was dispatched to a local business reference a fail to return rental property complaint.  The officer made contact with the suspect, who returned the property in question.  The case is closed. ● An officer assisted an individual with a found property report.  The property was returned to the original owner and the case is closed. ● An officer assisted the Michigan State Police with a traffic stop in the City Limits.  
11/27 ● An officer assisted a business owner in retrieving a company vehicle.  The vehicle was located and returned without incident. The case is closed.  
11/28 ● An officer was dispatched to a car-deer accident. There were no injuries. ●An officer was dispatched to North Main Street for an area check after witnesses reported a suspicious individual.  The officer made contact with the suspect who was found to be in violation of his probation.  The suspect was arrested and transported to the Osceola County Jail. ● An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a barking dog complaint.  The officer made contact with the owner of the dog and advised her to take the dog in the house.  The case is closed. ● An officer was dispatched to a local business reference a harassment complaint.  The officer made contact with the complainant and advised her to avoid contact with the suspect.  The case is closed.   11/29 ● An officer was dispatched to a car-deer accident.  There were no injuries. ● An officer was dispatched to a local residence reference a welfare check.  The officer made contact with the individual and cleared the scene without incident. ● An officer was dispatched to a residence reference an animal complaint.  The officer made contact with the owner of the dog who was issued a citation for a dog at large.  The case was turned over to Osceola County Animal Control. ● An officer was dispatched to assist Osceola County Parole and Probation.   11/30 ● An officer was dispatched to a residence reference a damage to property complaint.  The officer made contact with two suspects who were both arrested and transported to the Osceola County Jail.X   Reed City Police Report Nov. 26-Dec. 2 11/26 ● Officers responded to the parking lot of a business for a traffic crash.  A vehicle driving in the lot had struck a parked vehicle.  There were no injuries and only minor damage.  A report was completed. ● Officers were dispatched to an apartment for a landlord/tenant dispute.  The parties were talked to and advised that it was a civil matter and provided with a course of action. ● Officers responded to a residence for a domestic disturbance call.  Officers arrived on scene and determined that an assault had occurred.  Officers arrested the male suspect for domestic violence and he was lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident.   11/27 ● Officers were called to E Church St for a disorderly male that was drinking beer on the sidewalk.  Officers arrived on scene and found the suspect heavily intoxicated with an open container hiding in the parking lot of a carwash.  The subject had an extensive criminal history.  Officers arrested the subject for disorderly conduct and he was lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident. ● Officers responded to a residence for a domestic disturbance call.  Officers arrived on scene to find that the victim’s brother had assaulted her and then left the scene.  A report was completed and forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office seeking an arrest warrant. ● Officers issued a trash abatement at a residence in the city that had accumulated trash outside.  The property owners have the allotted time to correct the violation or further enforcement action will be taken.   11/28 ● Officers responded to a business for a found wallet complaint.  Officers were able to determine the owner of the wallet and it has since been returned. ● Officers assisted EMS on a medical call where an elderly female had fallen outside while getting her mail. ● Officers responded to the hospital for an assault complaint.  The complainant had advised hospital staff that she was assaulted by her husband.  It was determined that the complainant was suffering from mental issues and the complaint was determined to be false and the matter was unfounded. ● Officers were called to S Chestnut St for a traffic hazard.  A propane cylinder had fallen out of a vehicle.  The propane tank was removed from the roadway. ● Officers responded to an apartment complex for an unruly juvenile.  Officers arrived on scene and the juvenile had calmed down.  No action was needed. ● Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation.  It was determined that the driver was operating the vehicle without a license plate.  The driver was given an appearance citation at the scene and released. ● Officers assisted Parole Agents in verifying that a parolee was at his residence and not in violation of his parole conditions.  No violations were noted.   11/29 ● Officers investigated a larceny complaint the school.  A juvenile student had stolen batteries.  The student was talked to and a report was completed. ● Officers assisted with an out of control juvenile at a residence.  A report was forwarded to Child Protective Services.   11/30 ● Officers responded to a residence where a subject was located with an outstanding warrant for contempt of court.  The subject stated he had taken care of the matter.  Officers contacted District Court and it was determined that the warrant was entered in error.  The subject was released. ● Officers assisted EMS at the School where a student was having an asthma attack. ● Officers stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation.  It was determined that the driver had an outstanding warrant out of Lake County and was arrested and lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident. ● Officers were called to a business for a suspicious person that was loitering around in the store.  The subject had left prior to officers arriving on scene.  The information was taken and a report was completed. ● Officers responded to a residence for a malicious destruction of property complaint.  The complainant advised that someone had snapped his antenna off of his vehicle.  A report was completed and the matter is under investigation. ● Officers assisted a stranded motorist on US 10 near E Church St. ● Officers were called to assist the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department with a disorderly subject at a business just outside of the city.  Officers arrived on scene to find that the subject had left.  The complainant advised that the subject was intoxicated and causing a scene.  A report was completed.   12/01 ● Officers investigated a possible PPO violation.  It was determined that there was no violation to the PPO. ● Officers issued a trash abatement at a residence in the city that had accumulated trash outside.  The property owners have the allotted time to correct the violation or further enforcement action will be taken. ● Officers investigated a suspicious vehicle with two occupants that were parked outside of a closed business.  It was determined that the subjects were using the WI-FI.  The passenger of the vehicle had a felony warrant out of Florida, however they would not extradite the subject.  The subject was advised of the warrant and released.   12/02 ●  Officers did a peace officer stand by so a subject could retrieve his personal items from a residence.  There were no problems.  

Osceola County Sheriff’s Office 

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office investigated several complaints for the above week.  The following is a brief summery for some of that activity which occurred. 11-25 ● Deputies investigated 11 vehicle crashes, which occurred within Richmond, Highland, Evart, Burdell, Osceola, Hersey and Lincoln Townships. ● Deputies investigated an assault complaint, which occurred at a Reed City Business.  Through investigation it was discovered the victim was assaulted by the suspect.  The investigation was completed and this report was forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office for charges.   11-26 ● Deputies were dispatched to a Marion Township business on the report of a stolen vehicle complaint.  Upon arrival the deputies discovered that a known subject took the victim’s vehicle without permission.  Through investigation the deputies located the suspect and arrested them for this incident, while the vehicle was returned to the owner.  The suspect was then lodged at the Osceola County Jail without incident. ● Deputies investigated a breaking and entering complaint, which occurred at a Rose Lake Township home.  Through investigation the deputies discovered that someone entered the victim’s home and took an undetermined amount of prescription medication.  The deputies completed their investigation and cleared the scene once their assistance was no longer needed.   11-27 ● Deputies investigated 4 vehicle crashes, which occurred within Evart, Orient and Leroy Townships. ● Deputies investigated an assault and battery complaint, which occurred at a Hersey Township detention facility.  Upon arrival it was discovered that a resident of said facility assaulted several staff members.  The deputies completed their investigation and cleared the scene without incident.  The report has been forwarded to the Prosecutor’s Office for charges.   11-28 ● Deputies investigated 3 vehicle crashes and 1 vehicle crash with injuries.  Incidents occurred within Hersey, Richmond, Lincoln and Sherman Townships. ● Deputies responded to a Leroy Township home on the report of a residential alarm.  Upon arrival the home was checked and was found to be secure, and the deputies cleared the scene once their assistance was no longer needed. ● A sergeant conducted 9 liquor inspections at several area businesses.  The inspections were conducted without incident.   11-29 ● Deputies conducted a traffic stop on a Rose Lake Township vehicle for displaying an improper registration plate.  Through investigation the deputies discovered that said operator was not only operating with an improper registration plate, but with no insurance as well.  The vehicle was towed from the scene and the operator was issued 2 misdemeanor citations for said offence. 11-30 ● Deputies investigated 4 vehicle crashes, which occurred within Burdell, Middle Branch, Cedar and Highland Townships.
