10/07

  • Officers were dispatched to a call of a vehicle obstructing traffic on N State St near West Franklin Avenue. It was determined that the vehicle was broken down and was removed a short time later by the owner.
  • Officers assisted a student at the school that did not have a pair of shoes that fit. Officers made contact with Dollar General who donated a pair of shoes to the student in need.
  • Officers responded to a two-vehicle private property damage accident at the Hospital. There were no injuries and only minor damage. A report was completed.
  • Officers handled a walk-in complaint regarding a stolen wallet. The complainant reported that he left his wallet in a pair of pants that he let his friend borrow and now the wallet was missing. A report was completed and the matter is under investigation.

  • Officers assisted a disabled motorist that ran out of gas on East Lincoln Avenue.
  • Officers responded to a call of missing children. Upon investigation it was determined that the children were attending an after school function and the children were fine. The complaint was unfounded.
  • Officers assisted the Michigan State Police on a disorderly person call at a business in the city.

10/09

  • Officers were dispatched to a civil stand by at a residence. The subject never showed up to the residence.
  • Officers were requested to investigate a suspicious situation at the school. It was determined that a student was in possession of tobacco products and was cited into Probate Court.
  • Officers attempted to stop a vehicle for a traffic violation. Initially the vehicle did not stop. Once contact was made with the driver it was discovered that he was operating the vehicle while intoxicated. The driver was arrested on multiple charges including operating while intoxicated third offense, driving on a suspended license, operating a vehicle without insurance, improper use of a license plate and probation violation. The driver was lodged in the Osceola County Jail without incident.
  • Officers responded to East Bittner Avenue for a report of a dog running at large. The dog was not able to be located.
  • Officers assisted Child Protective Services in doing a home inspection. It was discovered that one of the subjects in the residence had an outstanding extradition warrant out of Kentucky. The subject was arrested and lodged in the Osceola County Jail awaiting extradition to Kentucky.

  • Officers responded to Community Mental Health for an assault complaint. The complainant reported that he had been assaulted by a patient. The suspect was removed from the property and the report has been submitted to the Prosecutor’s Office seeking an arrest warrant.
  • Officers investigated a complaint of a student skipping school.
  • Officers were dispatched to a business for an alarm. Upon arrival the building was checked and determined to be secure. The property owner was notified.

  • Officers responded to a residence on South Chestnut Street for a report of disorderly subjects. Upon arrival it was determined that family members were arguing over a deceased family member’s belongings. The parties were provided with a course of action and separated.
  • Officers were dispatched to a residence on West Slosson Avenue for an assault complaint. The complainant reported being assaulted. The matter is under investigation.
  • Officers investigated a suspicious vehicle parked near the elementary school. It was determined that the driver was a parent of a student and was waiting to pick them up.
  • Officers responded to a complaint of a larceny of a cell phone. The cell phone was recovered and the suspect has been identified. The matter is under further investigation.
  • Officers handled a walk-in malicious destruction of property complaint. It was determined that the incident occurred outside of the city and the complaint was turned over to the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department.
  • Officers were called to U.S. 131 at U.S. 10 for a report of a boat that had fallen off a trailer and was unattended. Officers arrived on scene and found property scattered throughout the roadway, including a container with suspected marijuana. A short time later a vehicle pulling an empty boat trailer pulled up and advised that the boat was his. The passenger of the vehicle admitted that the marijuana was his and was arrested and lodged in the Osceola County Jail without incident.

  • Officers responded to South Chestnut Street for a report of a car/deer accident. The were no injuries to the occupant of the vehicle and only minor damage. A report was completed.
