Investigation continues in possible stabbing of Marion man
MARION — Police are investigating a possible stabbing which occurred Friday evening.
Officers from the Evart Police Department responded to reports of a subject armed with a knife outside of a home just before 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 11, in the area of Third and Broadway streets in Marion, according to a press release from the Michigan State Police.
After responding to the scene, officers found a 29-year-old Marion man dead as a result of the "domestic incident."
Detectives with the MSP reported a preliminary investigation shows the man, whose name has not been released, likely died from a stab wound, but an autopsy to confirm the cause of death was scheduled for the beginning of the week.
Police said additional information is anticipated to be released throughout the week as the investigation is ongoing.
No suspects have been reported by police at this time.
The MSP said the area was secured and there are no threats to the public.
