Tickets are going on sale soon for Michigan’s newest festival, a Spring Beer Festival. Traverse City will host the newest addition to Michigan’s Beer Festival catalogue on May 7 at its Turtle Creek Stadium, home of the Traverse City Pit Spitters. The festival, organized by the Michigan Brewers Guild, will join the ranks of their successful Summer Beer Festival and Winter Beer Festival. “This festival in northern lower Michigan is a great addition to the geographical footprint of our events and we are sure there will be a lot of enthusiasm in Traverse City and the surrounding area,” Scott Graham, executive director of the guild, said in a statement. Michigan currently ranks sixth in terms of states with highest number of breweries, microbreweries and brewpubs, according to the guild. It has seen success with a number of other festivals throughout both the lower and upper peninsulas and expects the Spring Beer Festival in Traverse City to be no different. “The Guild is known for putting on first-class events and we think this will be a festival all beer lovers from across the state will enjoy,” Traverse City Pit Spitter General Manager Mickey Graham said in a statement. Turtle Creek Stadium, located just off of US-31 south in Traverse City, will join LMCU Ball Park and other venues in hosting a seasonal beer festival. The other festivals run by the guild are as follows: • Winter Beer Festival – Feb. 23 at LMCU Ballpark in Comstock Park.• Summer Beer Festival – July 22-23 at Riverside Park in Ypsilanti.• U.P.
