BIG RAPIDS \u2014 Ronald Richard Van Order, 81, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 25, 2013, at Altercare of Big Rapids. Ron was born on March 13, 1932, in Lansing, to Marie Dearing and Eston Van Order. In 1956, he married Connie Bieri. Ron spent most of his life in the Evart and Sears area, except for two years spent in Korea serving with the U.S. Army. He worked for 30 years at Evart Products and more than 20 years for Evart Public Schools as the grounds keeper. He enjoyed sports of all kinds, especially if his sons or grandchildren were playing. He coached several little league teams and was always proud of the way they played. Ron is survived by his wife, Connie Van Order, of Evart; two sons, David (Marti), of Evart, and Joel (Dawn), of Evart; four grandchildren, Jarek, Devon, Nolan and Mara; and five step-grandchildren and their families; four sisters, Joyce Hillier, of Sears, Joan (Bob) Goldammer, Vonnie (Art) Lloyd and Bonnie Yarhouse (Paul Cruikshank); brother-in-law, Stanley (Harriet) Bieri, all from Evart; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. His parents; one son, Jeff; and a brother, Donald, predeceased him. There will be a graveside military service at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 4, 2013, at Forest Hill Cemetery in Evart. Following the graveside service there will be a Celebration of Life service at 1 p.m. at the Sears Church of God with Pastor Dick Latham officiating.
