EVART - Robert D. Rossiter, 86, of Evart passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2012, peacefully at home where he had wished to be. He was born Nov. 19, 1925 to Robert John Rossiter and Gladys Esther Dorwin in Evart. He was married on July 31, 1946 in Clare to Wanda King who survives. He was a lifelong Evart resident where he owned and operated Rossiter Garage, retiring in 1985 because of his blindness. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and lifetime member of VFW Post 7979, Evart. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing, golfing and snowmobiling. He leaves behind his wife, Wanda Rossiter of Evart; son, Mike Rossiter of Texas; daughter, Becky (Lenny) Blaker of Evart; three grandchildren, Michael (Babs) Rossiter of Texas, Janell (Chris) Dolan of Texas and Troy (Stephanie) Allan of Howell; and four great-grandchildren, Michael, Brandon, Alexis and Jake. He was preceded in death by his parents, son Jeff and sister Jane Erbin. A memorial service was held Saturday, March 10 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Evart with Father Joe Fix officiating.
