SARAH KUBITSKEY REED CITY \u2014 Sarah Kubitskey, 96, of Reed City, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, July 21, 2011 at Spectrum Health \u2013 Reed City Hospital. She was born June 3, 1915, in Detroit to John and Tillie (Salinski) Kongeal. Sarah married Raymond Kubitskey Dec. 1, 1934. He preceded her in death in 1984 after 50 years of marriage. She was a Reed City resident since 1969, and was a member of St. Philip Neri Church. She enjoyed cooking, baking, and her grandchildren. The staff at Spectrum Health Nursing and Rehab Center will remember Sarah for her beautiful smile. Surviving are her daughters, Janice Winker and Diane (Paul) Woodside of Reed City, and Carol (William) Day of Fenton. Her greatest treasures were her grandchildren: Rodney (Shelly) Day, Jeffrey (Amy) Winker, David (Cindy) Day, Amye (Dean) Hensel, Derek (Jill) Day, Scott (Shannon) Woodside, Ryan (Jennifer) Day, Jason (Nicole) Woodside, and granddaughter-in-law Stacie Winker. She is also survived by 18 great grandchildren. Besides her husband, Sarah was also preceded in death by two brothers, two sisters, son-in-law Raymond Winker and grandson Troy Winker. Funeral mass was held Saturday, July 23 at St. Philip Neri Church with Rev. Fr. Loc Trinh officiating. Burial will be in Oakdale Cemetery, Hersey. The family requests memorials be given to the Alzheimer\u2019s Association. Arrangements were entrusted to the McDowell Funeral Home.
