EVART\u00a0-\u00a0Noreen Junne (Donders) Stevens, 75, of Evart, passed away at her home on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Noreen was born in Hersey on Nov. 17, 1939, to Margaret (Gibson) Donders. She married Robert "Bob" Stevens on May 30, 1959, in Evart, and together they celebrated 56 years of marriage. Noreen worked for many years at the Evart Elementary School as a kindergarten aide. She will be remembered for all the Christmas bells she made. She also worked at the Evart Public Library, helping others research their families in the genealogy department. She will be missed for her vast knowledge of Evart and the people who lived here. Noreen is survived by her husband of 56 years, Robert "Bob" Stevens, of Evart; two daughters, Barbara (Martin) Place, of Sears, and Debra (Leon) Stanley, of Barryton; seven grandchildren, Jacob Place, Jennifer (Derek) Vincent, Miranda (Matt) Nelson, Ashleigh (Jeffrey) Campbell, Jesse Kennedy, Courtney Kennedy, and Kyle Stanley; and seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Kayla (Lyman) Richter, Shirley (Larry) Squires, and Leann (Tom) Kingsbury; and sisters-in-law, Betty (Wayne) Bingaman, Ethel Yost, Beverly Stevens, and Carol Stevens. She was preceded in death by her mother; brother, Tom Donders; and sister, Sharon Schmidt. To honor Noreen's wishes, there will be a private family graveside service at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015, at Forest Hill Cemetery in Evart, with Pastor Mark Harrison-Haefner officiating. Those wishing to honor Noreen are asked to consider the Evart Historical Society or the Evart Public Library to further their genealogical collection.
