OSCEOLA COUNTY \u2014 For homeowners still experiencing a hardship associated with the coronavirus pandemic, the Osceola MSU Extension staff can help with applying for financial assistance.\u00a0 If you, or someone you know, is a homeowner that has experienced a hardship associated with the coronavirus pandemic that began on or after Jan. 21, 2020, or experienced a coronavirus pandemic financial hardship that began before Jan. 21, 2020, but continued after that date, contact the Osceola County MSU Extension office at 989-539-7805. You may be eligible for up to $25,000 MIHAF assistance per household on your primary residence. \u00a0 As a MSHDA approved counseling agency with a HUD Certified counselor on staff, the Osceola County MSU Extension office is equipped to assist clients, who qualify, in applying for financial assistance from the state of Michigan\u2019s Homeowner Assistance Fund (MIHAF). \u00a0The Homeowner\u2019s Assistance Fund was established under section 3206 of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (the ARP). MIHAF will disburse directly to the lender, servicer or service provide for eligible items, such as: Delinquent mortgage\/housing expenses, escrow shortages, and corporate advances; Delinquent land contract payments, mobile home consumer loan payments or contracted park lot payments; Property taxes; Condominium\/homeowners' association fees; Homeowner's insurances, hazard, flood, or mortgage insurance; Utilities, gas, electric, water, sewer; and Internet broadband services.
