Kenneth Duane Foote, 74, of Chase, passed away peacefully Friday, April 6, 2012, at his residence. He was born May 12, 1937, in Gladwin, to George and Elsie (Westover) Foote and had been a resident of Chase since 1986. He was employed with the Consumers Power Company for 42 years as a lineman and enjoyed his job immensely. He dedicated hours of work toward deer and wildlife management on his farm and looked forward to the fall hunting season. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, working with wood, and hunting trips out West. He is survived by his wife Joan Marie (Miller) Foote of Chase, sons Keith of Ann Arbor, Alan (Julie) of Howard City, Ruth of Paris, Robert of Grand Rapids, Kurt (Tammy) of Whittaker, grandchildren Tyler, Travis, Caleb, and Parker, brother Richard (Lois) of Mountain Home, Ark., Lyle (Marilyn) of Oregon City, Ore., sisters Shirley (Emerson) Dassey of Coleman, and Effie Brewer of Gladwin and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents George and Elsie Foote, sisters Betty, Ella Mae, and Loretta. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 13, at the Pruitt-Livingston Funeral Home in Reed City, with Rev. Joe Hilyard officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to either Hospice of Michigan or to the Baldwin Meals on Wheels and envelopes are available during visitation at the funeral home from noon until service time on Friday, April 13.
