SEARS\u00a0-\u00a0Janet M. Swales, 70, of Sears, went to heaven with her family at her side on Sunday,\u00a0Aug. 24, 2014. Janet was born on Sept. 22, 1943, in Barryton, to Ernest and Garnet (Parkins)\u00a0Woodbury. She was married to Otis L. Swales on April 17, 1965. Janet is survived by her children, Paul (Sheryl) Sanger, of Howard City, Janet (Kevin)\u00a0Hobbs, of Evart, Otis Swales Jr., of Georgia, and Tammy Swales, of Sears; a sister, Linda\u00a0(Olin) Thorton, of Weidman; 10 grandkids, Audrey Sanger, Mitchell Sanger, Lance\u00a0(Stasha) Sanger, of Big Rapids, Jamie Bechtol, of Evart, John (Jodie) Mankus, of Georgia,\u00a0Thurmond (Katie) Beasley, of Nebraska, Manny (Sarah) Gonzales, of Georgia, Cody\u00a0Wyman, of Reed City, Cullen Mills, of Sears, and Colton Mills, of Sears; seven great-grandkids;\u00a0and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Otis;\u00a0five brothers; two sisters; daughter-in-law, Becky; and grandson, Joshua. Funeral services for Janet M. Swales are at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 28, 2014, at the First Baptist Church in Evart, with Pastor Ryan Beilfuss officiating. Visitation is from 11 a.m. until the time of services at the church. Interment will be in the Orient Township Cemetery.
