EVART\u00a0-\u00a0Ila Mae Coleman, 97, of Evart, formerly of Waterford, passed away on\u00a0Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015, at the home of her son in Osceola\u00a0Township. Ila\u00a0was born on July 28, 1918, in Osceola Township,\u00a0to Henry and Anna (MacDougall) Gardner. She was a\u00a01935 graduate of Evart High School. Ila married Guy Coleman on May 7,\u00a01966, in Oakland County. She was a member of United Auto Workers and had\u00a0worked for General Motors Truck and Bus for 48 years, retiring in 1990. She loved\u00a0her work and her family. Ila is survived by her husband, Guy Coleman, of Waterford; her son,\u00a0Roland (Gladys) Phelps, of Evart; her step-daughter, Pam (Edward) Perez,\u00a0of Flintstone, Ga.; four granddaughters, Diane (Bruce) Brackett. of Sears,\u00a0Marcia (Scott) Frye, of Muskegon, Patricia (Marty) Bell-Beemer, of Big\u00a0Rapids, and Tiffanie (Randy) Smith, of Ringgold, Ga.; six grandsons, Alan Phelps,\u00a0of Marion, Kevin (Sandy) Phelps, of Clarkston, Randy (Nancy) Phelps, of\u00a0Ada, Thomas (Amy) Bell, of Rockford, David (Cheri) Phelps, of Lowell, and\u00a0Andrew Phelps, of Grand Rapids; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters;\u00a0and four brothers. Funeral services for Ila Mae Coleman will be at 1 p.m. on Friday,\u00a0Nov. 6, 2015, at the Corey Funeral Home in Evart, with visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. on\u00a0Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015, and from 11 a.m. until time of services\u00a0on Friday. Ila will be interred next to her mother in the Sylvan\u00a0Township Cemetery.
