EVART - Doris L. Ranshaw, 84, of Evart, passed away on Saturday, Sept. 7, 2013, at St. Mary's in Grand Rapids. Doris Lorine McLachlan was born on Aug. 15, 1929 to Norman and Blanche (Brooks) McLachlan on the family farm in Evart Township. She married Elwin "Sonny" Ranshaw on Sept. 26, 1948 on the same farm. Doris was a 1947 graduate of Evart High School. Sonny and Doris moved back to the Evart area from Brighton in 1987. Doris enjoyed tending to her rose bushes, feeding birds and loved spending time with her family. Mrs. Ranshaw is survived by her husband of 65 years, Sonny Ranshaw, of Evart; a daughter, Rhonda Cataldo, of Whittemore; a son, Rickey (Cindy) Ranshaw, of Alpena; six grandchildren, Drew (Vicki) Cataldo, Brett (Lori) Cataldo, Melissa Barrett, Rickey Ranshaw, Joey Ross, and Jessica Ranshaw; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Betsy White, of Evart; two brothers, Delbert (Betty) McLachlan, of Reed City, and Cleon (Donna) McLachlan, of Evart. Doris was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Susan Ranshaw; three sisters, Myrnia Hunt, Elizabeth Batchelder, and Erma Jean Ritchie; three brothers, Alfred, Glen and Clarence McLachlan. Friends and relatives may gather from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013 and from 11a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 11\u00a0 at the Corey Funeral Home in Evart. Officiating will be Pastor Rick Smith. Internment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery, of Evart. A luncheon will follow at VFW Post No.7979, of Evart.
