REED CITY \u2014 Catherine M. Fulmerhouser, 89, of Reed City, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, at Altercare of Big Rapids. She was born on May 28, 1924, in Royal Oak to William and Edith (Dougherty) Thayer, and attended school in the Evart area. She married Gerald Fulmerhouser on Oct. 9, 1940. He preceded her in death on Feb. 19, 2002. She is also preceded in death by three sons, Frank, Dale and Gerald, Jr.; one daughter, Mae; grandson, Richard; great-grandson, James; three sisters, Zetta Mishler, Pearl McDonald and Sadie Bass; and one brother, Gordon Thayer. She is survived by her daughter, Wanda (Michael) Moore, of Kissimmee, Fla.; daughter-in-law, Debra Fulmerhouser, of Paris; 12 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Catherine was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and had a day care service for many years. She enjoyed dancing, babysitting and her grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013, at St. Paul Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dawn Pooley officiating. Burial will be in Wilson Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of services at the church. Memorial may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to McDowell Funeral Home.
