EVART \u2014 Betty J. Vanderhoef, 92, of Evart, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday July 17, 2016, at her home in Osceola Township. Mrs. Vanderhoef was born on April 4, 1924, in Hersey Township in Osceola County, to L.J. and Rena Melissa (Cornell) Baumgardner. She married David A. Vanderhoef on Sept. 28, 1944, and he preceded her in death in 2006. Betty was a lifelong Evart area resident. She was an excellent cook who loved being around her family and enjoyed watching birds, especially cardinals and hummingbirds. Betty is survived by her daughter, Wanda J. Dellar, of Evart; four grandchildren, William (Tammy) Dellar, of Evart, Jeanette (Randy) Latham, of Covert, Cynthia (David) Mania, of Gaylord, and Diane Dellar, of Flowery Branch, Ga.; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David A. Vanderhoef; a sister, Marcella Jean Jensen; and two brothers, Arthur and Glen Baumgardner. Funeral Services for Betty Jane Vanderhoef are at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2016, at the Corey Funeral Home in Evart. Visitation will take place at 1 p.m. until time of services on Wednesday. Mrs. Vanderhoef will be laid to rest next to her husband in Forest Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Michigan.
