REED CITY — William G. Greenfield, 74, of Reed City, passed away on Friday, Nov. 25, 2011, at Metron of Big Rapids.
He was born on March 26, 1937, in Big Rapids, to Ernest and Dorothy (Mellor) Greenfield and attended school in Grand Rapids and Reed City.
William served in the U.S. Air Force from 1954 to 1960, and had worked in the anodizing department at Tubelite for 30 years. He also had worked at Michigan Cottage Cheese and as a school bus driver. He had attended Trinity Lutheran Church.
He married Carol Booe on Feb. 8, 1960; she survives.
Also surviving are four daughters, Kathy Hawkins, of Chippewa Lake, Brenda (Roland) Reedy, Cindy Ruppert and Diana Greenfield, all of Reed City; two sisters, Janet Clifton and Bonnie Barke, both of Allendale; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his children, Mark Alan and Debbie Sue; two brothers, Art Johnson and Charles Greenfield; and three sisters, Florence Kadwell, Anna Bowman and Ivah Whitmer.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 29, at McDowell Funeral Home. Visitation will be from noon until the time of services. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.
