Wexford-Osceola Habitat to hold open enrollment for partner families

New ReStore grand opening scheduled for Oct. 6

OSCEOLA COUNTY — The Wexford-Osceola Habitat for Humanity will be holding an open enrollment to apply for family partnership during the month of October.

Applications are available at the Wexford-Osceola Habitat for Humanity office, 7545 E. 34 Road, Cadillac, or online at wexfordhabitat.org.

Prospective Habitat homeowners must demonstrate a need for safe, affordable housing and have a low to moderate income.

Once selected, homeowners must partner with Habitat throughout the process, which may include helping to build their own home, or the homes of others in the community, taking homeownership classes or volunteering at the Habitat ReStore.

Homeowners must be able and willing to pay an affordable mortgage. Habitat makes a reasonable effort to ensure that an affordable mortgage does not exceed 30% of the homeowner’s gross monthly income.

Wexford-Osceola Habitat for Humanity will hold an open house from 5-6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, at Lake Osceola State Bank, 920 W. 7th St., Evart, and Wednesday, Oct. 19, at Habitat ReStore, 7545 E. 34 Road, Cadillac. Attendees will learn about the housing and financial coaching programs and meet other partner families. Refreshments will be provided.

Habitat also will host a grand opening of the Fab Rehab Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Cadillac from 3-6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 6, at 7545 E. 34 Road, Cadillac. The Cadillac Area Chamber of Commerce will perform the ribbon cutting at 3:30 p.m. The event will include hourly giveaways and refreshments provided by Primo’s BBQ.
