EVART — Viola E. Golombisky, 90, of Evart, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2015, at her home in Osceola Township.

Viola was born on April 16, 1925, in Pontiac, to Reinhold and Anna (Smeltz) Hoffman. She married George L. Golombisky on Feb. 4, 1949, and they were together for 46 years until his passing in 1996. She enjoyed spending time with family, couponing, cooking, canning and freezing vegetables from her garden until she could no longer do these things. In her later years, she enjoyed family gatherings and visits from family and friends.

Viola is survived by three children, her daughter, Ellen (Gary) Bengry, of Evart; her two sons, Larry (Stacie) Golombisky, of Novi and Bill (Linda) Golombisky, of Shepard; seven grandchildren, Mindy (Kevin), Lance, Corey, Chelsea, Sonja, Autumn and Chad; four great-grandchildren (who would make her day with every visit); a brother, Robert (Janet) Hoffman, of Weidman; a sister-in-law, Betty Hoffman, of Lake Orion; two brothers-in-law, Lee (Joan) Golombisky and Dale (Darlene) Golombisky, both of Evart; and many nieces and nephews who were very dear to her.

Viola was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George; five sisters and two brothers.

Funeral services for Viola E. Golombisky are at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at Corey Funeral Home in Evart, with Pastor Mark Bullock officiating. Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday April 28, 2015, at the funeral home. Viola will be interred next to her husband in Forest Hill Cemetery in Evart.
